Industry 4.0 / Scheduling Applications Engineer

Simio is seeking a talented individual with at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing IT applications, decision support, optimization, supply chain and advanced planning and scheduling (SAP PP/DS, Preactor, i2, PlanetTogether, Ortems, etc.) to join our team in delivering Industry 4.0 solutions.  These solutions will be implemented utilizing Simio data driven simulation-based scheduling technology.  This position requires both a strong knowledge of manufacturing, manufacturing systems and data integration skills.  Experience with ERP, PLM, MES (Wonderware MES) and other manufacturing systems is strongly desired.   As an Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for many of the following:

  • Engage with the executive level as part of a pre-sales team to present our unique simulation-based scheduling capabilities.
  • Develop and present proof-of-concept digital twin solutions for customer evaluation.
  • Write functional and technical specifications and project proposals.
  • Work on customer engagements to manage and deliver solutions from inception to completion (including post-project support).
  • Integrate data driven models utilizing data from ERP, MES (manufacturing execution systems such as Wonderware MES) and automation systems to drive Simio’s real-time production scheduling capabilities.  Interfaces can be flat-file based, direct database access (SQL, JDBC, ODBC or other technologies), RESTful web-services (SOAP, XML, JSON etc.), SAP IDOCs / RFCs, B2MML, or other options.
  • Implement cloud-based dashboards / reports and experimentation analysis tooling built on Microsoft Azure and other web-based platforms.
  • Lead key strategic projects to expand Simio’s product offerings into new markets.
  • Create digital twin / scheduling templates to help refine system functionalities and assist other users in the Simio user community.

Requirements for this position include a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Systems or related technical field.  Candidate must have some programming skills (preferably C#) and understanding of object-oriented programming.  Excellent English written and verbal communication skills area also required.  Industry 4.0 / scheduling solutions are created using the Simio simulation modeling platform.  Experience with simulation modeling using Simio is desired, but not required.   Candidate must be willing to travel up to 30% of the time (domestic and internationally).

IT Manager

We are looking for a bright, high energy, engaging person to help us build our information technology systems to support our internal business processes and expanding customer base.

This position is a high-level technical position responsible for the support of servers, applications, network, and computer related tasks. This position requires a broad knowledge of the Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, SQL Server, Azure, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve software/hardware issues. Additionally, understanding of networks, firewalls, and client/server architecture concepts is essential for execution of duties, which include supporting customers hosting an on-premises, web-based version of our software. This position is responsible for automating business processes using Salesforce, QuickBooks, online order processing, and other business tools.  This position is also responsible for managing a Selenium-based automatic testing suite for our web-based scheduling product.

A degree in Information Science, Information Technology, or related field is required to meet the technical demands of this position. An understanding of programming in C#, Java, and other languages is also desired. 

Applications Engineer

Simio LLC is looking for a highly versatile person to become an in-house expert in the Simio simulation and scheduling products. Depending on your skills and desires, your responsibilities will include many or all of the following:

  • Working with sales to help evaluate customer needs and explain how Simio features can meet those needs.
  • Proving support to help customers resolve any modeling problems to meet their modeling objectives.
  • Develop simulation models for analysis of systems and processes in manufacturing, aerospace, healthcare, logistics, supply chain analysis, and more.
  • Conduct public and private training courses to help customers be successful.
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure excellent product design and quality to meet future customer needs.
  • Document and “productize” new features to make it easy for customers to learn and use the features.

You will be working in an agile environment as an integral part of the development team.
Requirements for this position include a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, computer science, math, or other field related to computer software development, engineering, modeling and simulation from an accredited college or university, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and in team settings. Experience in simulation and the Simio product is required. Experience in scheduling is a big plus.

Senior Applications Engineer

If your skills include all the aspects mentioned for Application Engineer (above) and more, consider this position. As a Senior Applications Engineer you will work with more responsibility and a greater degree of independence.  We are looking for a leader and an innovator. Determine approaches and write functional specifications for larger projects, work as part of a team dealing directly with a customer’s upper management to explain our solutions and benefits. Manage and implement projects to assure customer satisfaction. Become a technical specialist or domain specialist.

At least 5 years of pertinent work experience and track record of success is required.

At least familiar with one or more programming language such as C++, C#, C, Java etc.

Experience with database software and working with MES and ERP programs is a big plus.

Software Engineer

Simio LLC is seeking a software engineer to develop desktop and cloud-based solutions for simulation modeling and scheduling, create complex product design, product architecture and development, create and implement interface design and databases/data integration, make modifications to correct software errors, improve performance, adapt to client needs, software testing and validation, and lead the development, design, and maintenance of desktop simulation and cloud-based simulation products.

The requirements for this position include a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field and 5 years’ experience with Microsoft .NET framework, .NET Technologies, n-tier architecture, C#, SQL Server, MVC and SaaS.
