I have one data table to create Order entities(based on SimBit - Entity by data table). Each order has properties such as type of Part and number of Parts. Each Order entity needs to reference a Part data table (based on SimBit - Leveled Arrivals) for that type of Part to create all the part entities for that order. Each Order type has an associated Part data table. I'm not sure how to establish the relationship between the order entity and the correct part data table. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Hello! Is there any possible way to change the order of queue depend on the datetime state variable? I have datetime state variable; jut simply set 2018-10-07 0:00:00 There are two entities called partA and partB and they are created following arrival table which has release column. So,partA and partB go to inputbuffer of a server, but partA just wait in the inputbuffer, not goes into the server until 2018-10-07. after the specific time, all of the partA move to the front of the inputbuffer and enter the server. I'm trying to do that using new station where partA is transfered from the inputbuffer to until 2018-10-07. Does anyone have an idea? or can anyone model this situation? Thank you. Jay.

Dear All, New to Simio and struggling with the following problem. I would like to model an entity to exit a server at its assigned time as a state variable for now, I know this: Every entity is assigned before exiting the source with a state variable (pick-up time): TimeNow + random value between 1 -5 I want to use this state variable to decide with an add-on process if the server can finish processing; TimeNow == pick-up time if not, the server keeps processing. In other words, the processing time of the server depends on the state variable of each individual entity. Hope someone has tips or tricks to solve this!

Hi Team, Good morning, I have a question that I need support. On my simulation under Planning tab then Entity workflow I see the Orders that I created, but also some other items that I don't know where those came from. that is using resources. for example, I highlight on the picture attached on red color. OrderWIP01 is waiting for the grinder [1] on the finish1_1, when I looked for it, I saw that is on Phx4.89. What is that Phx4.89? Phx4 is one of the names of the entities. but why does appear as entity and not as a Order? At the moment I looking for why to increase the output, as the simulation is giving me 17 unit per shift, but engineering said that it should be around 20. Hi all, I've got a vehicle on a fixed route that has a capacity greater than one. Each entity has a loading and unloading time of 15 seconds. Now I want to let the vehicle dwell for 20 seconds at a node, but only if it has at least one pick-up or drop-off. When there is no pick-up or drop-off, there is no dwell time. So, if the vehicle loads or unloads only one entity it takes 20 seconds. But loading/unloading multiple entities at one node takes the loading/unloading time required. For a pick-up I can dwell only if the RidePickUpQueue of the current node is > 0. For a drop-off I'm however clueless what to put in the "dwell only if" How to implement this logic? Thanks!

Hello everyone, In My Model i attached, i have 4 diffrent type of entities. The model is a standart Source-Workstation-Sink model. In my model, entities come to Workstation2 and afterwards they are processing. In workstation2, if entity type is same, there is no setup time but if entity types are diffrent, there is 2 minute setup time. My question, which is very crucial for me at that time is, after all entities came to Workstation2, is there any way to set a variable how many entity type (as we can see in model, the number is 4) came to Workstation2.Inputbuffer.Contents? Or is there any way to see the number of them in a status label after they come to Workstation2.Inputbuffer.Contents? At that point, you may say that why are you using Tables instead of using ModelEntity for each type of entity. I know that i can do it in that way but if i can built the model at the end, i will have a lot of input. Thats why i preferred using Tables. I don't know if it is a simple question or not. However it makes me crazy because unfortunately i cannot find a way, i'm stuck on it. If anyone have an idea or know solution, please help me. Regards, Alper MyModel.spfx

Hello, I'm trying to model a paint flow line where I have two servers in one line(series and not parallel). If one entity gets painted in server 1, then I want that entity to just pass server two without getting processed. If the entity does not gets painted in server one than it can get processed in Server 2. I'm not sure how I should put this logic in Simio. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Hello! Probably it's a easy problem to solve, but I'm struggling with it! I'm going to describe my little system (please see the attached image): At lunch time (12h PM), the students enter the restaurant through the ticket gate (1) and chose the self-service food buffet (servers A, B or C) with the lowest queue. My question is: when it is 1h PM the "C" buffet closes, for this action I've put on the first "C" server a "Work Period Exception" that makes the server to have a new capacity = 0, but its queue (with more than 30 people) continues on "C" inputbuffer, thus I would like the students (entities) to go from C inputbuffer to A or B servers (that are open) when It's 1h PM and "C" is already "closed" (capacity = 0). Hello Simio team. My group and I are currently working on solutions reguarding queue related issues. We are working on a case where we can implement a loop system similar to the Sim Bit called "Add and remove server capacity", altough we would like relate the opening and closing of capacity based on the maximum queue time (5 minutes = Open another server) and (3 minutes = Closer a server) in the TransferRode instead of the numbers entities in the TransferNodes. We have tried to follow the pdf step by step in the Sim Bit, but we have not been able to get it to work. I hope you guys can help us resolve this issue. -Mlars11 Pharmacy.spfx

Hello - At the moment, my university group and I, are having troubles on simulating a basic telephone queue in SIMIO 10. We're in doubt on how to adjust each object, so that they can run on specific data we have received from a given source. And more likely on how to set this up? In the uploaded picture below, our basic model is shown. So please, if you have any advice on how to adjust this specific model to run as a basic telephone queue write a comment. Hello, I have a data table with 900 total entities, comprised of 10 different types of entities. I am trying to randomize which entities go through the model, but I need all 900 to go through. I've tried the "entity mix" technique, but it always overloads my model with too many entities. Does anyone have an idea of how to go about this? I want to run a series of experiments with a random selection of entities for each replication. I hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance! -Mario

Hello, I'm trying to route a certain percentage of one type of entity to a difference sequence. The SIMBIT "ChooseAlternateSequence" is great, but how do I change that for a specific entity? I tried to modify that SIMBIT with an additional part. I have Part A and Part B now, and in the process logic I used Decision --> ModelEntity.Is.PartB --> then to another Decision Block with the probability and sequencing. I just want "PartB" to have a probability of X to go through the "Adjust" server. When I run this, the logic doesn't recognize "ModelEntity.Is". Am I doing this completely wrong? Hi, I like to count total number of entities types waiting in front of the servers.Say for example, i am having entity1,entity2,entity3.Each entity is produced from separate sources(source1,source2,source3 respectively) .I got 5 servers(S1,S2,S3,S4,S5). Entity 1 processed in S1-S3-S5 Entity 2 processed in S1-S2-S4 Entity 3 processed in S3-S4-S5 Each entity has different arrival rate. i like to create a expression to sum the total number of entity type 1 waiting in queue infront of the servers S1-S3-S5.if total number of entity type 1 waiting is greater than 100 numbers,the next coming entity type 1 from the source1 should leave the whole system( i mean sink without processing)similarly i like to count for entity2,entity3. Hi, currently my model has 2 manufacturing lines that are mirror to each other, depending on constraints by diameter, parts will go to a specific line. If parts are <60 inches they would go through line 1, but if parts are greater or less they can also go through line 2. My problem is I want to have Multiple Sequences on a entity and then be filter by diameter and line capacity. Any ideas?

Hi, In my model, one of the servers has working shift from 10am to 10pm. I would like the server works 1 more hour (from 10pm-11pm) if there is an entity in the server inputbuffer queue. Could you please give me a hint how to check the server inputbuffer queue for a specific time (10pm-11pm every day)? Also, I would like to have the detail results of my model for each entity based on the time for each server or node in excel because I run the model for a long time. Hello, I'm very new to SIMIO and apologize if this question is too elementary. I've been trying to figure out how to run the simulation from a defined list of entities. Most of the SIMBITS and examples I have seen use a random "product mix" or other means to produce entities. Is there a way to simply run say, 40 defined mixed entities from the data table. I'd like to run several different entities from the data table, all with different sequences and processing times. Similar to the SIMBIT EntityFollowsSequenceWithTable but with a defined amount of PartA,PartB,and PartC entities. Thank you for the help!

I’m currently working on a project for my senior design course, in which my team is going to simulate the finishing stages of the grinding operations for the pulp and paper industry. The company we are working with has given us all the data needed to re-create their currently facility layout and production rates for each machine. The scope of the project is to model the current production system while simulating changes to the system in an effort to optimize throughput in a safer, more efficient, and more cost-effective manner. The simulation models will be used to compare different layouts while tracking changes in efficiency and output. Parts arrive in batches, and each batch contains segments that when put together form a circle. This batches can go from 12-16 segments. Depending on customer orders the batches will go through different machining operations until sent to shipping. Therefore, we have created a production schedule from previous customer orders that backtrack to over a year worth of data. The production schedule shows the customer order, the diameter of the circles, number of segments and the machining procedures needed. https://imgur.com/a/EICIy The table shows a sample on how the production schedule looks like (there 6 other columns containing other steps for each order). The problem we are currently facing is figuring out how to input the production schedule into Simio. We must treat each batch as discrete since they all vary in machining. The three-main operation are backing, facing and creep feed. Another issue we are encountering is that Creep Feed only machines one segments at a time in comparison to the other to main operation which can machine a full circle. Again, we don’t know how to tackle this problem. If any of you could advise me into how to go about inputting the work schedule into Simio and how to go about machining a full circle and then by segments. With several servers, entities only wait in one queue, while the rest of them are empty. How can I settle it to make them go to the emptiest ones? I thought it was by changing the outbound link rule of the output node from "shortest path" to "by link weight" but it's still not working. Thanks!

Feature request: Vehicle can pick up and drop off things(Entity)at (x,y,z) in free space , NOT node. This is especially useful to model battle field rescue work, when wounded soldier was randomly created in a zone (not on nodes). thanks

Hi, I have a problem with entities in the queue. The process is in the MemberInputBuffer of a Combiner and I have to create different materials for each entities in the queue. So I put in the process a search step searching for entities and then other steps (assign, delay etc) to go to other tables to create the materials related to each specific entity. The problem is in the first search because in “collection type" I have written “entity population” and in “entityType” there is the reference to a table with all the entities in the system. I need to search only the entities in the queue of MemberInputBuffer (and now the steps search all entities in the system) but I'm not able to find the right "match condition" to restrict the search only to the queue. Hi I have created a subclass of Entity and named it AgentBase. My new Entitytype AgentBase contains a station and a queue which is showing the content of the station. I have added a process OnCreated which is creating two additional AgentBase-Object and transfer the additional to the station. I have now two problems: - There is only one entity shown in the queue with the contents of the station - instead the two. I want to show all in a line. - The showing entity in the queue have the wrong direction I have added my project where you can see the problems. Hopefully someone can help me. Thank you.
