  1. Hi David, I am trying to get your option 3 to work in my model, as the solutions sounds brilliant. I created an Add-On Process that probabilistically assigns destinations to the Entity and by assigning the destination node to the Entity's State Variable MyDest. In the Routing Logic, I've set the Initial Sequence to the sequence table called Routes that holds all possible routes. However, the entities now only follow the first sequence Routes (Input@LoadingDock9, Input@Sink_HTB), whereas Entities with the destination Input@Sink_RTM should follow the sequence Input@LoadingDock10, Input@Sink_RTM. How can I let the Entity follow a specific sequence from my Sequence Table Routes?
  2. Hi all, in my model I have a specific transfer node where a worker transfers an entity to a vehicle. I cant add the load unloading times in the worker or vehicle due to the fact that there is only loading time in this transfer point exactly. I was wondering if there is a way to directly add a "processing time" to this transfer point. Maybe by creating a subclass? Thanks
  3. Thank you for responding - in that configuration, does that mean I need 100 excel sheets? Right now, I have 100 rows that have the different experiments I want to run, and all the values needed for the node-lists / transporter-lists and entities to be used Thanks for your help!
  4. Hello Gosia, I recommend using two State Variables to record the start and end times using the function TimeNow upon the Vehicle’s arrival to a Node. A Decide step is needed to check if the Current Node is different from the Destination Node and that is when values of the State Variables are assigned using the Assign step. The Processes will be set at the Vehicle’s Add-On Process Triggers On Entered Node and On Exiting Node. You can visit the SimBit section under the Support ribbon and check the SimBit titled “Record Distance Traveled” to see a similar example. Another approach is to create a custom Vehicle Class and use a Level State Variable instead of the two Real State Variables to collect information of the travel time. I suggest exploring the Level State Variable in the Help pages under the chapter titled “States”. I recommend checking the SimBit titled “Using Level States (from project Infection Propagation Using Continuous And Flow)” as well. Best Regards, Khaled
  5. Hello, Worker has a state variable to set ride capacity on run time (Worker.RideStation.Capacity). What you could do is save the number created on a modelentity variable, and set up a addon process trigger on Entered of the node MemberOuput@Separator to first verify if it is a worker (Decide Step with Is.Worker), and if true, you would use a Search step to search through QueueState -> Separator1.MemberOutputBuffer.Contents and assign the Worker.RideStation.Capacity to the value of the modelentity variable found.
  6. Hi I have draw a Conveyor and conntected it to a InputNode of Server. Now I have to change the model and connect the Conveyor to another BasicNode. How can I do this without removing and redrawing the conveyor?
  7. Hello, Server (reflecting the storage/kitting area) in my push model is connected to multiple servers. I have below conditions to fulfill while routing entities from an output node of this server - After every 5 minutes, 1. Scan through the sequenced entities at kitting area (output buffer) 2. Scan through the output destinations to check if they have space available for transfer. 3. Route all the possible parts in sequence from the origin server. Can someone help with advice or any reference model to replicate this scenario in Simio. Thanks in advance. -Mohmed
  8. I used to have a similar problem. My advice, avoid the pallet entering the combiner untill you have defined de @new@ batch size, elseway the batchsize wont be updated. In my case I put a scan step in a prevoious node, retaining the pallet ouside the combiner until I've re-defined the batchsize. Let me know if that works Rds
  9. Hey Simio insiders, I have been working on a model with workers. The workers transport goods over a facility, from one server to another. They seem to work perfectly until about 2 hours into the simulation. I have been looking into the the 'watch' properties, and it appears that the worker is waiting for something. This happens eventough i do not have a wait process in place. It waits at a server which it is about to drop an entity. The server input buffer is infinity, since i thought it might have caused the problem. Do any of you know why my worker is waiting?
  10. Hey, Thank you for your reply. I have fixed the problem! It was a process that I forgot to stop after a WAIT step. Stupid mistake, but it happens. Thanks
  11. I think your worker has entered the node but it is not a visit, so that it waits until any other object seizes it. Have you transfered your worker onto that node by using a SIZE or MOVE step?
  12. hello i'm the simio user in south korea i want to make my model flexibily. My model has vehicle and elevator The overall process flow is vehicle take entities to server1, After vehicle arrived to server1, elevator take entities and go to every destination. To work well, Three things are needed for this trend First, i want to do if the vehicle comes to server1 then the elevator goes to upstair Second, the vehecle has to wait until the elevator after been to upstair and arrive to server1 Third, repeat the two steps. how can i solve the problem this model in Model2, not Model1 1veh1eleModel.spfx
  13. Hi, I am trying to make it so that at the end of a process all of my combiners (say 10 or 20) collect all entities (assigned to a particular combiner when they enter the system) but wait to release to the sink until the simulation reaches a certain time (say 9:00 AM) AND all entities have been processed through the system and are in their assigned combiner. I use a combiner because they turn into a different type of entity before exiting the system. I've tried a few different things but cannot seem to get the process logic down. Any help?
  14. How do you use the transfer step to bring an entity from a path to another node. Currently at the reached end condition of the path I created a Transfer Step process that moves it to another node. I keep getting the error "The entity's current location '[EndOfLink] Path3' is invalid for attempting the specified transfer request". When I set From to EndOfLink I cannot fill any 'To' options. What do I do?
  15. Hey, I've got a quick question on how to route to a combiner with the longest waiting time in their parent queue. I think it should be quite easy, but i cant seem to make it work. What i have been doing is setting the selection goal of my routing node to largest value, and select from a list. This largest value I think should be the the longest waiting time in the contents of the parentinput queue. I have tried this multiple ways both using assosiated object and without. When i recall the number waiting it seems to work, but with recalling the waiting time i'm doing something wrong. My current expression is: Candidate.Node.AssociatedObject.Combiner.ParentInputBuffer.Contents.TimeWaiting(ModelEntity) or Candidate.Combiner.ParentInputBuffer.Contents.TimeWaiting( object ) both seem to work for content.numberwaiting. I think i am describing the ( object ) part wrong but cant find how i should write for the modelentity otherwise. I have tried to recall a specific entititype like so --> TimeWaiting(Truck) this also does not work. Does somebody know how i can acces the ParentInputBuffer.Contents.TimeWaiting? Greeting Piet
  16. Is it fair to say that the longest waiting time in the parent queue is the first entity at the queue? If so, you could use something like: Candidate.Node.AssociatedObject.Combiner.ParentInputBuffer.Contents.TimeWaiting(Candidate.Node.AssociatedObject.Combiner.ParentInputBuffer.Contents.FirstItem) to access the combiner which has the largest value of the time waiting of the firstItem in the queue. It seems to work
  17. Hello All, I am new to Simio and trying out a simulation of an aircraft component assembly shop. I am using Sequence table for my jobs routing and processing scenarios which is - Source -> Set A (4 servers) -> Set B (7 servers) -> Set C (5 servers) -> Set D (2 servers) -> Sink Here each Set denotes similar workbenches to any of which a job can be routed based on utilization and availability at that point of time. So for routing job based on above criteria from Source, I created sequence table with 'Node list property' (which is list of input nodes on 4 servers of Set A) instead of 'SequenceDestination Property' as required by Sequence table. I want to replicate the sequencing from Source -> Set A -> Set B and so on. But want simio to pick the server of these sets based on my criterion. Unfortunately it is not working as I assume Sequence table need to have specific node as SequenceDestination. I am not sure if I am doing it right or what is correct and way to do it. I will highly appreciate any suggestions to make this happen in Simio. Thank you. -Mohmed
  18. Hi, In the modell I'm working on I have a set of sources that generate different types of entities and two workers that have to grab those entities and trasport then to another node. The decision of which source is unloaded first is defined by a specific probability distribution. However, I don´t know where to define this decision to route the worker. Could someone please help?
  19. Hi! can you help me please? In my model I have a server that I want to function as storage, this server is linked to a combiner which will combine the member entities that leave the server with a parent entity that will arrive at it from another node. Each member entity has a state with a unique number linking it to a parent entity (there may be more than one member entity with the same state number). How can I extract from the server only the member entities whose state is equal to the state of the parent entity that arrives at the parentinput of the combiner? Thank you so much! 18.10.spfx
  20. You need to put the search, release and transfer steps into the Add-on Process Triggers "Parent Entered" of the Combiners. For example, for the "Juntar_secos" combiner, at the "Parent Entered" Addon process, you would search for Slots.Processing.Contents, matching "Candidate.ModelEntity.Id_Del_Pedido == ModelEntity.Id_del_pedido". After that you should use a release step, to release Server "Slots", and a transfer step to transfer what have been found to Output@Slots.
  21. Well, first thing, you don't need your entities to be bouncing between the output and the input of your server like that. If you want to use it as sort of storage, set both the processing time and the capacity to infinity. After that, at the moment that the parent entity enters the combiner "Parent Entered" you could search the queue of your storage using a search step with something like "Server1.Processing.Contents", with the condition of "Candidate.ModelEntity.State == ModelEntity.State", release the server and transfer what have been found to the output. You need to take some care on some situations, like what if the parent entity arrives first at the combiner then the member at the storage? And some care with batching quantities aswell. But I think you can handle it.
  22. Hello Everyone, please can someone help me with this situation? I want to use a Server as a storage place, entities coming out of it go into the MemberInput of a Combiner. I want the number of entities that leave the Server to depend on the state of the entity that will enter the ParentInput of the Combiner. How can I access the state of the parent entity that will enter the combiner from the Output Node of the Server? Thank you very much, Greetings! 14.10.spfx
  23. To model shelves, I am trying to create a series of custom "Shelf" objects (subclass of servers) located in a grid pattern. I used a spreadsheet to automatically calculate the coordinate locations and generate a name (string) for each object based on its position within the grid. With just the Shelf object types in the spreadsheet, can bind the file to my object reference table no problem, import the data, and populate the facility window with my objects. That part works fine! Next, since I have an aisle running between the rows of objects, I wanted to set it up so that the objects all face "inwards", ie. the input and output nodes for the objects are facing the aisle. Originally I thought of rotating the Shelf object, but I ran into 2 issues: first, I discovered that I can't set the Shelf yaw orientation from the table, so that's not going to work. Second, I realized that even when I rotate the Shelf in the facility window, the nodes do not rotate with their parent object. I decided I would leave the Shelf in the same orientation as it is placed, but I would just re-locate the input/output nodes to the opposite edge of the Shelf objects on the far side of the aisle. For this I would need to make sure I can set locations for the input/output nodes in the same object reference table. When I added a row to the object reference table from within Simio (prior to binding to a spreadsheet), a drop down appeared, and I could select the input or output nodes for any object that already existed in the table, and then define the node's location in the cartesian coordinate columns. When creating a node this way, the node location is still relative to the object, ie. I can drag the object in the facility window and the node moves relative to the object, which is perfect. This input/output node creation and relative location definition via table is exactly what I am trying to automate, but this is where I started running into problems. In my spreadsheet I used formulas to generate names for the nodes to match the formatting of the input and output nodes in Simio (ex. "Input@..."/"Output@..."). I also added a formula to assign all input node object types to BasicNodes and all output nodes to TransferNodes and calculate the desired location coordinates for the nodes. The spreadsheet I made has the same format as the table in Simio where I tested manually creating and positioning the nodes. The issue is that when I bind the table and import the spreadsheet data to my model, the node names automatically change and are no longer formatted to reference the parent object. Because of this, these name-changed node objects are created in addition to the input and output nodes that are created for each Shelf object. However, if I remove the binding and add a new row, once again I can find the node name in the drop down list and assign the coordinates manually, and the input/output node that references the parent object will move to where I send it. My question is: how can I set the input/output node locations for the objects when creating objects from a table? There are over 500 Shelf objects in the table so I do not want to locate them manually, but the automated method is not working either. The only idea that I have is to make a new object "Shelf2" and define the external view to have the nodes on the opposite side, but that seems like a less-than-idea solution because then I would have 2 custom objects to update and maintain, that are otherwise identical. I am hoping that I don't have to do this hacky solution but I am interested to see if anyone else has dealt with this and has ideas. Thanks!
  24. I wonder if it is possible to pick one particular entity from the BatchMembersQeue and unbatch it. For example I have a pallet with 10 entities batched (9 red and 1 blue) and I want to remove only the blue one. I was able to find the entity with a search step, but I cannot transfer it or unbach it. Any ideas? TnksUnbatch one entity.spfx
  25. I need to simulate a crane moving entities between different points. But the problem is the load and unload time are not the same in all those points. I need to be able to define somehow the crane load & unload time as a variable (node depending). I wonder if anyone has dealed with this problem before? Rds.
