November’s Digital Playing Field:
Where Sports Meets Simulation
This month, our Digital Playing Field series explores how the analytical revolution that transformed professional sports is now revolutionizing industrial operations. These aren’t just interesting parallels—they’re practical frameworks for mastering uncertainty in complex systems.
From Box Score to Digital Score: Key Performance Indicators in Sports & Simulation
Discover how Liverpool FC’s Champions League success mirrors the measurement systems that drive digital twin performance. Just as sports teams track player statistics across multiple dimensions, digital twin systems provide real-time insights into equipment performance and operational health.
Moneyball Manufacturing: How Statistical Analysis Revolutionizes Production Planning
Billy Beane’s Oakland Athletics proved that data-driven analysis could compete against teams with three times the budget. Learn how the same principles that created baseball’s statistical revolution are now transforming manufacturing floors through advanced simulation technology.
The Fourth Down Decision: Risk Management in Digital Twin Simulation
That heart-pounding fourth-down moment perfectly mirrors the challenges engineers face managing digital twin systems. Football analytics has transformed how coaches approach critical decisions, and the same principles can revolutionize your risk management approach.
The Replay Official: How Digital Twin Software Provides Provides System Verification
Just like replay officials use multiple camera angles to verify crucial calls, Simio Digital Twin Software serves as your ultimate system verification tool. Discover how systematic verification processes improve decision accuracy in any operational environment.
The future of simulation visualization has arrived with our NVIDIA Omniverse integration in Simio 19. This groundbreaking combination delivers immersive, photorealistic environments that transform how teams interact with their digital twin models. From manufacturing floors to logistics networks, see your simulations come alive with unprecedented fidelity and detail.
The integration combines Simio’s powerful discrete event simulation capabilities with NVIDIA’s industry-leading visualization technology, creating experiences that bridge the gap between digital models and physical reality. Your stakeholders will finally see exactly what you see in your simulation insights.
Upcoming Industry Insights: Mastering Flow in a VUCA World
This session explores how to tackle the volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous environment impacting modern supply chains. Learn how to manage risk and variability through advanced digital twin simulation and operational strategies designed to protect flow, sustain throughput, and maintain resilient supply chain performance.
Our experts will guide you through practical approaches to:
Identify vulnerabilities caused by VUCA challenges
Implement simulation-based scenario planning and risk mitigation
Whether you are navigating demand swings, supply interruptions, or operational disruptions, this webinar equips you with tools to safeguard your performance.
Use Predefined Data Table Schema to Populate Initial Property Values
For Simio modelers, auto-creating Objects and Elements can be a powerful technique to develop a model more efficiently. For certain Objects/Elements, there is the ability to specify the Initial Property Values of the auto-created item.
When manually creating a column to auto-create certain items, the Initial Property Values will not be specified automatically and must be manually entered, which can be time-consuming.
To avoid having to manually establish the references for these values, creating a table from a pre-defined schema can help to automate these references by pointing to table columns in the schema that match the inputs to the Object/Element. In this case, creating the schema for the Material Element will map all properties associated with the Material Element to the columns of TblMaterial for where information should be retrieved. The Initial Property Values repeat group now has 23 rows which can be added to/removed from as desired.
Consider using Simio’s predefined data schemas to expedite your model building!
