  1. Simio academic offering is not compatible with commercial offering. There is no way to convert the model to be workable in commercial version by the end-user.
  2. Description of Runtime Capability Runtime is the ability for people to execute a Simio model without investing in that design-time version of Simio. Simio imposes no limits to the number of models you can distribute or the number of people you distribute to. And you are free to distribute outside of your organization if you choose. There is no charge for any such distribution. Two runtime modes are available: Interactive Runtime Uses Simio Evaluation Version which is available free to anyone and may be used without activation. It provides the ability to load a model, run it interactively to view the animation, and even change the model at will. Model changes cannot be saved nor is the capability provided to run experiments or execute custom user-written steps and elements. Only Simio Team Edition is capable of creating models that will run in Interactive Runtime. Full Runtime Uses Simio Express Edition. In addition to the substantial modeling features built into Express, it provides the ability to load and run models, save model changes, run experiments, and execute custom user-written steps and elements. Design and Team Editions can create models for use with Full Runtime.
  3. Hello,

i would like to know if its possible to track the different values for a user defined MyModelEntity state.

In my case, i created different states like MyModelEntity.MaterialCosts and MyModelEntity.HoldingCosts, ...TransportCosts ... etc.

The values are summed up in a state called MyModelEntity.ProductionCosts.

This state is shown as a dynamic label text in my model, so i can see the production cost value at the actual time.

But is it possible to see the different values of the MyModelEntity states that make up the production costs for instance during different periods of times in the simulation or at any time?

Because i would like to see the values of my states like MyModelEntity.MaterialCosts  at certain times in the simulation.

    Thank you!

  4. Hello, I am working on a Demo Model and I would like to use the Console feature. The Console has a lot of "pros" because you can decide whether to display/hide KPIs, place buttons...However, it has a couple of "cons" that make its usage less friendly: Console Size cannot be pre-defined. Every time that the Open Console is clicked, the console will be opened in a different place and with a small size, which forces to manually move it and resize it so that everything can be seen more clearly. Gridlines cannot be hidden. I have tried to disable them in the section of view - gridlines, but it has not been possible. Any of you know if these two features actually exist and it's me that I do not know them? Attached there are a couple of screenshots of what I mention and the model itself (DemoModel should be run and right click open console). ConsoleIssue.spfx
  5. I am trying to make a routing decision based on the Candidate node's routerequestqueue's summation of the entities user-defined property. If there are different types of entities with ex. different priority levels. I would like the routing process to choose the transfernode which has the smallest total sum of it's entities priority level. the transfernode that needs to be chosen also has a routing group attached to its entity destination type rule where its final machine has 0 buffer and due to a blocked destination rule, there will be a queue build up at the transfernode that needs to be chosen. I have thought about using a state variable for each node and using add-on process each time a unit enters and leaves a node but because the main model has many multiple nodes the node's entity priority sum has to be able to be accessed through the candidate.transfernode._________________. For example during the routing step in the process section, I have candidate.transfernode.destinationroutinggroupname.routerequestqueue which gives me the node's number of units waiting, but i need to be able to access the candidate nodes summed queued property. Is there either a way to directly access this information, have looked at the expressions and having a hard time finding something. failed attempt: candidate.transfernode.destinationroutinggroupname.routerequestqueue.population.defaultentity.priority.summation or is there a way to use the add-on process where i am adding/subtracting the priority levels, but somehow attach it to the candidate.transfernode's property Hopefully this makes sense. If you look at the file, please ignore the upper half and focus on the transfer nodes maintransfer, transfernode1 and transfernode1_1. maintransfer has an entered add-onprocess which is the subject of this question. the route process and it's selection expression is what I'm trying to adjust but find a way to express the candidate transfernodes of transfernode1 and transfernode1_1 (which are part of the XferRouting group). I'd like to choose and compare the total summed priority level of each node's queue. Simple_Routing.spfx

  7. Rotary filler head object that represents animation of bottles rotating around a cylinder as they get filled. You can use a regular server if animation is not required. This object lets you define the number of filling heads, direction of rotation and rate (Bottles Per Minute), pitch of fillers heads (in degrees) and ReleaseType (Release type represents where the bottle will be released at 180 Degree from the start point or 270 degree). As seen in the picture above, Arrow represents the starting point. Users can also specify if they need fine control over the rotation of the filler heads. If fine control is set to True filler head will pitch by 1 degree. This provides smoother animation.Users will have to make sure the pitch is set correctly in relation to the release type if Fine Movements are set to False. With FineMovements set to False filler heads movement is equal to pitch defined. Users can also specify failure rate in similar way to server or other standard Simio objects. This object has not been extensively tested and it can be further customized to requirements. IndexingPlate - V4.spfx
  8. I'm interested in calculating a yearly production rate. Essentially I could do this if I ran my simulation for 1 year and looked at the output. The number of entities destroyed by my "completed" sink will be what I'm looking for. How do I determine this value if I'm running for longer than 1 year? For example; If I run for 5 years, and I'm watching my model run, at week 186 I'd like to know how many entities had been destroyed by my "completed" sink between weeks 134 and 186 to determine my yearly production rate.
  9. Hello, I'm wondering if anyone has a good idea for how to view a resource's utilization according to the day of the week in the pivot grid of an experiment? Currently, my best idea is to just have a status plot in the facility window to illustrate this but I'd prefer to have an average utilization by day of resources in the pivot table. The scenario I'm working with is having "technician" resources that are being seized by server objects to do "maintenance" on the truck entities coming into the maintenance shop. I'd like to see which days of the week are the busiest so I could determine where to schedule new technicians. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Pit-To-Bay Off-Shift Rule Fixed.spfx
  10. I need to calculate patient throughput using user-defined statistics but I am not sure how to calculate throughput in Simio. I´ve tried different approaches unsuccessfully so far... Could this be the right expression: Sink1.NumberDestroyed/Timenow? Does anyone know what is the general process for doing this? Thank you, Juan C.
  11. Hello everyone, I'm thrilled to share that I've successfully established my simulation model and conducted extensive verification and validation. Now, I'm ready to take the next exciting step: experimentation! While I've made considerable progress, I've encountered a minor setback. It seems that for certain scenarios, the response 'AverageWaitingTimePerTruck' isn't displaying any values. Interestingly enough, this issue only arises when conducting experiments with higher throughput values. The response is defined by averaging the tally statistic 'WaitingTimeBeforeReloading' of the Truck Entities in my model. Have any of you experienced a similar situation before? If so, I would greatly appreciate your insights on resolving this matter. Thank you in advance for your support! Best regards, Toon
  12. A basic photo eye object that can be used with conveyor belts. Photo eye is based on a transfer node object. It collects statistics on time in blocked state, cleared state and throughput. Transfer nodes on entered and on exited add on processes can be used as on blocking and on clearing add on processes. Photo eye has properties to define the delays for on blocked and on cleared. Photo eye will wait to complete on blocked delay to execute on blocked add on process. Similarly, photo eye will wait to complete on cleared delay to execute on cleared add on process. 13. Hi all, I am building a simulation of a system with multiple separators which MemberOutput nodes two different routing policies can occur: 1. Standard Policy In the 'Standard Policy', each separator has its dedicated transporter assigned to it and entities arriving at the MemberOutputNode can only select the defined transporter. To this end, a DataTable has been constructed. 2. Power Hour policy In the 'Power Hour Policy', operations are shifted into a higher gear. We select a maximum number of three nearest transporters whose ride request is 0 and include them in the DataTable which specifies the Transporter Selection. Entities arriving at the MemberOutputNode can now request rides from any transporter in the DataTable. I tried to reference to a DataTable called 'TransporterSelection.EPT' in the Transport Logic of each MemberOutput Node. Each value in the EPT column is cross-referencing to a DataTable in which I try to assign the MemberInput Nodes as a Node Reference State Variable of the Transporter (EPT). Is there any way to dynamically assign more (or less for that matter) Transporters to a TransferNode? Hope that anyone knows how to do this! Cheers, Toon
  14. Hi! I have been using SIMIO for quite some time now, but I have barely come across this need. I need to record the time spent per entity at any given path/server in the simulation, rather than obtaining the average time for all entities at the end of the simulation. Take the image below as an example. I need to record the time spent in the link (TimeOnLink) per entity generated. The path corresponds to that connecting the source to servers 2-7. Then, I need to record the time spent per entity on servers 2-7 (TimeInStation). I can display the unique ID number for each entity by Entity.ID, now I need to match the statistics. I figure the best way to model is trough ExcelWrite, but I can't manage to make it work. Any hints? The plan is to get the following information per entity, rather than a summary of all entities.
  15. Hi All,

I have defined the input buffer capacity and output buffer capacity for my servers, If the input buffer of destination server is full the vehicle still picks the entity(from output buffer of previous server) and moves to the destination(next) server and just waits with the entity unless input buffer capacity is available , how can I restrict the forklift from not picking up the entity or should only pick when the next server/destination has input buffer capacity available. any thoughts on this would be helpful.

  16. Thank you Dave! Inspired by your approach, I defined two Node Reference State Variables for the Entity: EndDestination and NextNode. In the model Processes, I first determine the Entity State Variable EndDestination based on a DataTable with probabilities per destination node. Then, at routing decision points, I have created processes that evaluate the EndDestination node and set the next node for the unity based on that. Although it requires a bit of 'hard modeling', it works like a charm! Thanks
  17. I think this could be helpful as well - do you have an example of this working? Because I thought the experiment tab it required the user to grab directly from a predefined list in the simulation? Like it is not text accesible?
  18. Ever want to track statistics periodically, like by hour, shift, day, or week? I created this pair of objects for a customer about a year ago, then forgot to do anything with it. Perhaps others will find this to be useful. The solution is two objects, one for states and one for tallies, that allow you to flexibly designate periodic statistics on any interval, can skip periods (like off shift times), provides an optional plot, and provides the choice of logging or output file. I frankly don't recall how complete this was when I left it, but I'm sharing it in the hopes that others can benefit from this work and possibly even complete/improve it and reshare with others. Enjoy! PeriodStatisticObjects.spfx
  19. I used to have a similar problem. My advice, avoid the pallet entering the combiner untill you have defined de @new@ batch size, elseway the batchsize wont be updated. In my case I put a scan step in a prevoious node, retaining the pallet ouside the combiner until I've re-defined the batchsize. Let me know if that works Rds
  20. hello i'm the simio user in south korea i want to make my model flexibily. My model has vehicle and elevator The overall process flow is vehicle take entities to server1, After vehicle arrived to server1, elevator take entities and go to every destination. To work well, Three things are needed for this trend First, i want to do if the vehicle comes to server1 then the elevator goes to upstair Second, the vehecle has to wait until the elevator after been to upstair and arrive to server1 Third, repeat the two steps. how can i solve the problem this model in Model2, not Model1 1veh1eleModel.spfx
  21. I have a problem with producing/consuming within my TaskSequence. I need multiple task operation (prepare -> work -> clean -> produce), where I'm also consuming/producing material defined inside my BOM table. When I'm trying to reference material requirements on the BOM table I get an error: "Could not determine the row to use in the referenced table or repeat group ...", references to the processing time and other parameters are working fine. If I set the task sequence reference to the BOM table, then material requirements works OK, but I could not add more than 1 task. I'm using version 15.241.27814 . Best regards, Žan
