  1. Hi, I'm making a manufacturing line sumilations where 2 entities representing components enter combiner, where they are being proccessed to a new single entity. How I'm suppoused to terminate those 2 entities that are entering the combiner and generate one new that is leaving? Also, can you combine more that 2 entities in one combiner?
  2. Hi All, I want to do some calculations just before the simulation ends. I did it previous versions without problem but now on version 15.247, "on run ending" add-on process is not being executed.I tested it even on a new simple model file with source server sink. There is just two assign steps with breakpoints on the add-on process. But in model trace it doesnt show the add-process name, the state variable value is not assigned, and breakpoint is not reached. Anyone experiencing the same problem in this version? Is there a quick solution to this? Or do I have to install older version? Kind regards, Tolgahan
  3. Hi, I have several sources that create the same container entity, yet every container entity created carries out different tasks throughout the model. I would like to change properties of specific container entities, for example, each time the container entity in "lane 1" gets filled, it changes the speed of that container entity (not of all the population of container entities). How can I do this? Thank you!!!
  4. Hello all, In my model, I have a pool of secondary resources representing Firms. Order entities with random amounts arrive from a source, targeting randomly selected firms. The amount in each Order entity is registered in a state value vector (called "FirmDemands" with a row for each firm) as the demand for its target firm. I would like to direct Product entities coming from a different source to the firms according to their present level of demands. I suppose I could use "Select from List" option, but how would I refer to that state value vector in the selection expression so that a product will be assigned to the firm with the highest demand at that time?
  5. Hi, A combiner is able to combine 1 or more entities into a parent entity. The number of entities that are batched together is specified in the property Batch Quantity. I recommend looking at the SimBit "Combine Multiple Entity Types Onto Pallets" for an example. Best, Khaled
  6. Hi, I'm currently working on the attached model, and currently i have a lot of trouble on making the two operators prioritize the B2C entities. I hope that somebody can help me fix this issue. Just a brief rundown of the model: each day freight arrives at 8.00 and this triggers the sources for B2C and B2B to feed a number of entities, with a corrosponding distribution into the system. Upon the entities arrival to the two "AT-servers" the two operators should prioritize the completion of all B2C entities, before moving to ATB2B. If new entities arrives at the ATB2C server, and the operators is situated at ATB2B, they should interrupt that process and focus on ATB2C. The prioritizing and interruption is based on the simbit: InterruptibleOperator.spfx Best regards Kasper MySimio.spfx
  7. Hi, I am strugling with how to prioritize entities on a server, so that one always will be processed first. No matter what i've tried it always seems to prioritize wholesale_retur first. Please see the attached photo for reference. Best regards Kasper
  8. hello i'm the simio user in south korea i want to make my model flexibily. My model has vehicle and elevator The overall process flow is vehicle take entities to server1, After vehicle arrived to server1, elevator take entities and go to every destination. To work well, Three things are needed for this trend First, i want to do if the vehicle comes to server1 then the elevator goes to upstair Second, the vehecle has to wait until the elevator after been to upstair and arrive to server1 Third, repeat the two steps. how can i solve the problem this model in Model2, not Model1 1veh1eleModel.spfx
  9. Hello everyone, First time here! I'm trying to combine 2 different models in the same file, the model on the left will create the model entities (colored dots below the model) and send them to the model on the right through the node OUT2, then, on the right model, the vehicle will pick the entity and decide its destination depending on the type of entity, the issue here is that the right model can't identify the entity as it's created on another model and will be called "Model1.Entity" instead of "Entity", i don't know how to ignore the "Model1."part. I've tried to use model entity's state variables, hoping to be able to read them with the expression "ModelEntity.NameOfVariable", but i can't seem to assign values as it says that "Specified name was not found". Fusing both models in the same model it's not an option as i want to be able to make different configurations. Thanks! CONFIGURADOR.spfx
  10. Hello, I am trying to combine different types of entities (coming from different sources) using a combiner. Layout: 1. One source connected to the parent node of a standard library combiner. 2. Two sources (each with a different entity) connected to the MemberInput of the combiner. I saw the Simbit but I am struggling with the matching logic for this configuration. I tried: - Matching Rule: 'Match Members' - Member Match Expression: ModelEntity.BatchMembers.IndexOfItem( Entity2) && ModelEntity.BatchMembers.IndexOfItem( Entity3) This is a rather simple problem but I would appreciate a quick hint. Larger picture: Assembly of many parts into a product with each part represented as an entity. Thanks, Michael
  11. I have recreated a system to see theoretical capacities and it has multiple sources (1 parent and 2 different members that I combine). I have turned off balking because that interferes with my unit mix. I have also changed all buffers to a finite number and crossing logic capacities to 1. Even with all of this, I still hit the 2500 max entities and an error pops up. This system should only be able to hold a couple hundred, so I know I don't need to adjust my capacity size. I made the units stop at the 1st server so I could isolate the issue and it appears to be upon creation or in the combiner. My question is, how can I have unit production pause (not stop) when the buffers and capacities are full? I have attached the file for reference. APS Design 2.spfx
  12. I want to build a simple repository model,as the Picture below. And there are two Funktions, that i donn't know, how to implement. The first Problem is: I hope that several products with different total amount can be generated in sequence one by one. For Example, there are 50 Product A, 40 Product B and 30 Product C at Source WE. They schould be generated in sequence. First 50 Product A,1,2,3...50 one by one generated. Then 40B, generated one by one and finally C. At present, I can only achieve one-time generation of all A, then all B and All C. The second Problem ist: there are may be 10 Vehicles in the System. I want to record the total time of the car loaded and empty travel time, and the corresponding percentage of these two items. I would be very very grateful if you could help. I'm really in a hurry and hope to get your help.
  13. I am trying to run a simulation with only 10 entities throughout the entire simulation. Is that possible? Thanks,
  14. Heya, I am experiencing some difficulties, with something that I would like to model. In short I would like to model the following: One road going from A to B by using a source and a Sink. Only trucks (entities) will be on this road, and they will be able to notice which truck is the most nearby. The truck is looking for another nearby ruck to group up with, and will try to form a couple, "Truck Platooning". Until one of them decides to make a turn to a different destination (passes a node, and decides to move to a different sink). During this time the following truck will safe fuel and thus costs. At the moment I am quite stuck with the following. I would like to make use of the find step and vectors. But there are not that many examples around on how to properly use them. I would like to let the entities update their location.x every second in the vector. Meanwhile the entities will use the findstep to find the nearest entitiy, and select this entity to 'catch-up' with. How do I make a list of these entities, and keep updating their location?
  15. Thank you very much for your help, but simio says I can't use the Release step with the server because I don't have any resources to release. In addition, although the Search step works very well, since I don't have any step that keeps the entities inside the server even if they are not called, they continue to leave the server and merge with entities that should not be merged. If I set the processing time to infinity, despite calling entities with the Search process, the entity does not leave the server. I tried to condition the processing time of each entity according to the "Ventana_de_entrega" state, but as expected, it is not the most appropriate. 21.10.spfx
  16. Hi There, I have lots of experience in simulation but I'm new to Simio - my apologies if my Simio vocabulary/conceptualization is off or if this question has been asked already. I'm working to build a queue model simulation with a network of services and multiple staff types. In my mind, it makes the best sense to do this using the standard library of servers and resource pools (to visualize the network for stakeholders and be able to model multiple staff with different schedules that can each respond to multiple services). Right now, I am starting with a single stage M/M/c type queue to make sure that my implementation is correct before scaling this upwards. I checked out the SimBit titled 'Source – Server – Sink' that has three different M/M/c implementations; however, none of them use Resource Pool objects or combine process triggers with the standard library. I was able to implement a basic model that tries to combine a resource pool with a server by triggering separate Seize and Release process triggers on entry to the server object and after the processing time is completed, respectively. It runs without error; however, the results for average time in system (calculated by an average of a tally statistic that is only recorded for every 500th customer/entity), the results are one third less than in a scenario where I don't use a resource pool and set the capacity of the server explicitly, (which I validated against M/M/c formulae results). Does anyone have tips for how to link servers and resource pools and troubleshoot this scenario? Is there a SimBit or other example out there that is relevant? Am I triggering the seize/resource processes at the wrong points in time? Or is my framework for how to conceptualize this in the Simio environment missing a key concept? Thanks!!
  17. Hello and thanks for reading, I'm building a model that should replicate how vessels are handled within a port area. Within this area, there are multiple Terminals (servers) and ships (entities) that have to visit any number of terminals. Their processing times at each server vary. With their sequences predefined, I have managed to model this accurately, based on a first come first serve or another dispatching rule. I'd like to implement a dynamic sequence. 1) How can I model a certain degree of freedom in their sequences - e.g. a vessel is free to choose between sequence XABZ or XBAZ, depending on the queue size at A or B at the time of leaving X? However, in reality, these vessels enter the system, draft a sequence that is suitable for their loading plan, and then try to reserve serving times at the various terminals. I have tried wrapping my head around ways to model this, but can't seem to think of a way how. I could create a large amount of state variables for each server, that denotes whether or not a certain slot has been reserved, but that is not suitable for running long simulations. I read on this forum post that I could perhaps use a storage element, and store the reservations in there. How would I go about saving reservation-related information? Should I store that on the barge entity or in the terminal's reservation storage? How should I go about modelling timeslots in itself? 2) How can I model 'future' reservations of entities at the various servers? Finally, if this functions properly, and entities can request reservations at the various servers, I would like to have the servers compare all the requests at a certain cutoff time, and for all the doubly requested slots have it allocate the reservation based on the entities' characteristics. 3) Would I have to store the reservation data on both the entity and the server side for them to both make calculations with them, or is it enough to have them all on the server side, and denote whether they have been accepted with e.g. a boolean property? My apologies for the long post. Do not hesitate to ask for more information. Kind regards, Tom
  18. Thank you very much for your suggestion! But the condition indicated in the Search step is not met, since entities with any state number leave the server, regardless of the entity's id in the combiner's parentinput. 18.10.spfx
  19. Hi, Is it possible to set the state variable of the parent entity in a batch equal to the sum of state variables of all member entities in the batch? Context of the case; a truck (parent) is loaded with x number of orders (members). These orders have a specific value for the state variable 'NumberOfRollContainers'. The truck has the state variable 'TotalRollContainers', which should equal the sum of the 'NumberOfRollContainers' in that batch. Kind regards, Christa
  20. Well, first thing, you don't need your entities to be bouncing between the output and the input of your server like that. If you want to use it as sort of storage, set both the processing time and the capacity to infinity. After that, at the moment that the parent entity enters the combiner "Parent Entered" you could search the queue of your storage using a search step with something like "Server1.Processing.Contents", with the condition of "Candidate.ModelEntity.State == ModelEntity.State", release the server and transfer what have been found to the output. You need to take some care on some situations, like what if the parent entity arrives first at the combiner then the member at the storage? And some care with batching quantities aswell. But I think you can handle it.
  21. Just wondering how can I model the behavior of slowing down when two entities come across each other from two directions? Any clue or suggestions?
  22. Hello Everyone, please can someone help me with this situation? I want to use a Server as a storage place, entities coming out of it go into the MemberInput of a Combiner. I want the number of entities that leave the Server to depend on the state of the entity that will enter the ParentInput of the Combiner. How can I access the state of the parent entity that will enter the combiner from the Output Node of the Server? Thank you very much, Greetings! 14.10.spfx
  23. Hello, I'm working on a problem where at some point a worker will transport a specific amount of pallets. Whereafter these pallets are processed by a server and a server wil process them. Once processed, a different worker (or the same worker) will move the pallets to the next server. How do I save these entities as a batch and let workers know how much pallets they can process? At the moment I have two approaches. One where I create a 'batch' as an entity and assign to it the amount of pallets. The 'problem' in that case is that I do need to count the amount of pallets at a server, since it has a certain capacity. And sometimes an initial batch whitch comes from a truck needs to be split to fit the capacity of workers. But once this would be fixed, the worker will always transport the right amount of pallets. A second approach that I have tried is to create the pallet entities normally, and assign a 'PalletHistory' in the modelEntity properties, but I find that after processing I can't find this palletHistory for the workers to get a sign of how many pallets to transport. Do any of you guys have an idea how I can approach this? Greetings
  24. I am trying to simulate a model of a factory where 6 hours of planned maintenance occurs every Wednesday at the same time, from 8am to 2pm on the production line. There is a second almost duplicate line which can then be operated when the maintenance begins, it is attached to the 1st line after the source and the first server. The factory is 24/7 in production. When this occurs the 1st line should clear of all entities and should remain empty for the 6 hours. How is it possible to simulate this 6 hours of no production on the first line after the first server and when this happens the source should continue producing but follow another path to a second line after the first server. From this experiment i want to see how many entities can still be created over a period of time when the maintenance occurs by using the second line.
  25. Please help, I am at a loss, I have been trying for hours now and I assume the solution to be very simple and I'm just overlooking it. I have three entities going through my system; Ship, Truck and Train. All three entities have different carbon emissions. I want to create a status label that shows the total carbon emissions per entity based on kilometers traveled in the system. The label should show something like 'ShipEntity.Totaldistancetraveled * 0.323 (or whatever co2 output is for that entity)'. However you can't set 'totaldistancetraveled' or record it with any variable for these entities, only the 'ModelEntity' that I didnt create myself but is always there when you start. Also, I don't want to use vehicles. I just want to use entities through my system. Please help me. I have attached the model for your reference, I dont know if that is necessary or if it helps. Kind regards, Jason Corridor Model 0.05.spfx
