  1. Rotary filler head object that represents animation of bottles rotating around a cylinder as they get filled. You can use a regular server if animation is not required. This object lets you define the number of filling heads, direction of rotation and rate (Bottles Per Minute), pitch of fillers heads (in degrees) and ReleaseType (Release type represents where the bottle will be released at 180 Degree from the start point or 270 degree). As seen in the picture above, Arrow represents the starting point. Users can also specify if they need fine control over the rotation of the filler heads. If fine control is set to True filler head will pitch by 1 degree. This provides smoother animation.Users will have to make sure the pitch is set correctly in relation to the release type if Fine Movements are set to False. With FineMovements set to False filler heads movement is equal to pitch defined. Users can also specify failure rate in similar way to server or other standard Simio objects. This object has not been extensively tested and it can be further customized to requirements. IndexingPlate - V4.spfx
  2. Hello Gosia, I recommend using two State Variables to record the start and end times using the function TimeNow upon the Vehicle’s arrival to a Node. A Decide step is needed to check if the Current Node is different from the Destination Node and that is when values of the State Variables are assigned using the Assign step. The Processes will be set at the Vehicle’s Add-On Process Triggers On Entered Node and On Exiting Node. You can visit the SimBit section under the Support ribbon and check the SimBit titled “Record Distance Traveled” to see a similar example. Another approach is to create a custom Vehicle Class and use a Level State Variable instead of the two Real State Variables to collect information of the travel time. I suggest exploring the Level State Variable in the Help pages under the chapter titled “States”. I recommend checking the SimBit titled “Using Level States (from project Infection Propagation Using Continuous And Flow)” as well. Best Regards, Khaled
  3. Hi, I'm trying to keep track of the time traveled of each vehicle in my system. I'm attaching a basic file with the current model. Aly help will be highly appreciated. Nw_Working_All_Logic.spfx
  4. does anyone has ideas about record the total time of the car loaded and empty travel time? help please Model -1.spfx
  5. thank you, it really helps a lot. do you have any idea to record the total time of the car loaded and empty travel time? i have subclass the vehicle, define a vehiclelist with different string and modify the vehicle process "oncapacityallocated", "onriderloaded" and "onriderunloading" als emptytravel and loadedtravel. But i works not so good, the time are not so correct. Especially when i define the "load time" and "unload time", these time are also counted.
  6. I want to build a simple repository model,as the Picture below. And there are two Funktions, that i donn't know, how to implement. The first Problem is: I hope that several products with different total amount can be generated in sequence one by one. For Example, there are 50 Product A, 40 Product B and 30 Product C at Source WE. They schould be generated in sequence. First 50 Product A,1,2,3...50 one by one generated. Then 40B, generated one by one and finally C. At present, I can only achieve one-time generation of all A, then all B and All C. The second Problem ist: there are may be 10 Vehicles in the System. I want to record the total time of the car loaded and empty travel time, and the corresponding percentage of these two items. I would be very very grateful if you could help. I'm really in a hurry and hope to get your help.
  7. What happened with the Simio animation contest? any news?
  8. Hi! I have been using SIMIO for quite some time now, but I have barely come across this need. I need to record the time spent per entity at any given path/server in the simulation, rather than obtaining the average time for all entities at the end of the simulation. Take the image below as an example. I need to record the time spent in the link (TimeOnLink) per entity generated. The path corresponds to that connecting the source to servers 2-7. Then, I need to record the time spent per entity on servers 2-7 (TimeInStation). I can display the unique ID number for each entity by Entity.ID, now I need to match the statistics. I figure the best way to model is trough ExcelWrite, but I can't manage to make it work. Any hints? The plan is to get the following information per entity, rather than a summary of all entities.
  9. Thanks you so much for you help Liz. That's such an advanced modeling techinique I had never heard of before. I would never be able to figure it out myself. It has almost worked but correctly. It has recorded the results for some tallies correctly but recorded some tallies on the wrong tally. I think there is a problem with the set row feature somewhere. I have no problem with setting rows elsewhere in the model such as arrivals from production and arrivals from truck tables create entities correctly with all their state variables. The product list table also has unique "productnames" (entity instances), set as key and auto set-row property is set to true. I have added another coloumn with element tally statistics reference (DistanceOnForklift) to products table. I have auto created it as you suggested and turned on the auto-set row feature to true. Both my product names and tally statistics coloumn are set as key in same "products" table. But the tally step still doesnt record them to the correct tally statistics. Where am I doing wrong? Would you still be able to help me? Shall I send you the model in private message? Here is the formula I have inputted 'Products[Products.ProductName.RowForKey(ModelEntity.EntityType.Name)].DistanceOnForklift' and in the picture below you can see that tally step records into wrong tally element on last three entries. I would be glad if you could help me.
  10. The SkyBox icon on the View Ribbon opens a library of static and dynamic scenes that can be placed in the 3D animation. Dynamic scenery includes several options for clouds that move with the animation as the model runs. Typically, the Speed Factor should be set to 5 - 10 or greater to see movement. Static skybox options include many indoor and outdoor scenes. Indoor applications include adding building walls to surround your model. The 'None' option will remove any existing skybox. Users can create their own SkyBoxes as well. The “library” skyboxes are simply *.zip files with images inside them with the names front, back, left, right, top, bottom. They don’t need to have all of those names in them, Simio will use whatever ones it finds. They are located in the Skybox folder under \Public\PublicDocuments\Simio. Note when you first apply the SkyBox, you can only view it in 3D and you may need to use the Ctrl Scroll wheel to move the camera down to where you can see the horizon. There are over 20 SkyBoxes that are installed with Simio. A few more are attached below. Simply download and save these zip files in the C:\Users\Public\Documents\Simio\SkyBox folder. The next time you open Simio you should see something like this under SkyBox options: Here is an example of the MFGPlant SkyBox with a server in the foreground: If you create your own skybox images that you feel might be useful to others, please share them here. Hospital.zip MFGPlant.zip Warehouse.zip Airport.zip CleanMFGFacility.zip NEW NOTE: We just decided to reduce the size of these and some existing skybox files and include them all in Sprint 215. So it is probably better that you just wait a bit unless your need is urgent.
  11. The best way to do a sensivity analysis is to make "designed experiments", run your simulation according to this desing one by one and record the results of them and then analyse the results by using "statistical methods". Thus, I suggest you to investigate "experimental design" or in other name "design of experiments" concept. At first, you can get confused with this topic thus you can ask for help from an experienced expert in this area. The above method is called "perturbation analysis" and as far as I know it is not the best way or at least a common method for doing sensivity analysis.
  12. Hi M_A, It is difficult to determine what could be causing this without seeing the model. Here are a few things I suggest investigating: Ensure that your model run time is set run long enough for all of your entities to flow through your system. To test this, I would set your model run time to Infinity, and create 1 set of 35 employees. Then see how long it take for the model to cycle through all entities. You may be able to use some Animation at this step to see where the entities are getting stuck. Along with #1, I suggest turning on the Model Trace and reviewing the steps taken for each of your employees and the bus. If you are using an unbounded random distribution (for example a normal distribution) for any of your processing times, then the result of that distribution could be something very large. You should be able to see if that is the case within your Model Trace review as well. Lastly, make sure all of your Transfer Nodes are set to route By Sequence and require the bus for transport. Hope this helps. Thanks, Ryan
  13. Hi all, I was wondering, is it possible to record the time in system of entity instances and subsequently plot the values in a histogram? Of course, I can see the average, min and max values in the results tab, but I am interested in knowing what the distribution is like for model validation purposes. If it is not possible to plot the values in Simio, is it perhaps still possible to access and export the values, i.e. to a .csv document? Hopefully my question is clear. Best regards, Michkel Mariegaard
  14. Visualize Utilization in Facility Window or Dashboard Reports I have a source – several servers – sink model. It’s a model of an assembly line production meaning that the entity cannot continue to Server 2 if Server 2 is occupied. The servers have different production times and I want to compare the different utilizations of the servers. I did this over the experiment window and the expression Server1.ResourceState.PercentTime(1) . In a next step I want to visualize these utilizations next each other with something like a bar chart. I came up with two possible ways of doing so but both didn’t work. In the facility window with the animation tools like the linear gauge. The problem here is probably that the expression “PercentTime” has no reference to what the overall time is, while the model is running, and therefore the gauge shows constant 100% the whole time. Or in the experiment window in the dashboard reports which doesn’t have percent time as a response. Is there any other way of visualizing the utilization?
  15. Hi Simio Users, I am getting an error in my model that I cannot seem to figure out how to resolve and could use some help. When an item in the kitchen model needs to be fried, there is an inventory table that has a Boolean value for if the task involves frying. When the value is TRUE, it records certain values to a table through a Record process step. In this process step it looks up the Ingredient Row in number format and seems to be having trouble with assigning the new value in the table that it is recording with an element reference value. Any clue of what could be wrong? I am wondering if my data table might be set up incorrectly? Any help is very appreciated. Thanks David
  16. Please help, I am at a loss, I have been trying for hours now and I assume the solution to be very simple and I'm just overlooking it. I have three entities going through my system; Ship, Truck and Train. All three entities have different carbon emissions. I want to create a status label that shows the total carbon emissions per entity based on kilometers traveled in the system. The label should show something like 'ShipEntity.Totaldistancetraveled * 0.323 (or whatever co2 output is for that entity)'. However you can't set 'totaldistancetraveled' or record it with any variable for these entities, only the 'ModelEntity' that I didnt create myself but is always there when you start. Also, I don't want to use vehicles. I just want to use entities through my system. Please help me. I have attached the model for your reference, I dont know if that is necessary or if it helps. Kind regards, Jason Corridor Model 0.05.spfx

  18. For each location where you want to start a time interval (Server 1 and "the very beginning" in your example) you would need to add a state to the ModelEntity (NOT to the model). Then for each place you want to end a time interval (server6, "the very end", and server4 in your example), you would need to add a TallyStatistic element and Tally and observation at the point. For example to record the time between between Server1 and Server6: create a modelentity state named TimeDepartingServer1 assign TimeDepartingServer1 the value of TimeNow when entity departs Server1 create a TallyStatistic element named Server1ToServer6Time record a Tally observation (using node or Tally step) at Server6 recording the value TimeNow-TimeDepartingServer1 to Server1ToServer6Time add a status or floor label using the expression Server1ToServer6Time.Average
  19. 1) The model seems working as you intended. The animation seems the logic is not working but in fact the animation is delayed (in the animation the modelentity is at output node of server2 i.e., seems behind the scheule but if you examine trace window the modelentity is just at combiner memberinput buffer.) 2) I think the process logics are not required if you will not use them for further modeling purposes. I mean If you set appropriate parent match expression and member match expression at combiner1 object, the object itself will combine them automatically (it will perform all the operations you performed in your processes). Try not to use them?
  20. you can and should use dynamic label text instead of status labels. first choose the modelentity then set dynamic label text property as the expression you want (under the animation section of properties window).
  21. The various resource type objects, such as Server, Combiner, Resource, etc. as well as moveable resources, such as Workers and Vehicles have Resource States that are automatically assigned by Simio. See the List States page in Simio for a listing of the resource states for each object. You can evaluate the state by using the ResourceName.ResourceState in an expression, such as in a Decide step - Server1.ResourceState == 3. These resource states can also easily be viewed by clicking on the object itself and going to the Active Symbol section of the Symbols ribbon to display the animation symbol and listing of the various states and their associated numbers.
  22. Right so this is something that I have found Simio does really well... What you are after are list state variables...They work like PLCs...i.e....each variable accounts for each second of the simulation run time. The idea is to just through the entity into different states, and Simio will automatically record all the output statistics. This is similar to the resource state variable of a server.
  23. Good day everyone, I need to acess the average waiting time in a member input buffer of a combiner. First of all, how is there not an easy option to acess average time in queues? Most of the times I have to tally everything, which in turn doesnt work with experiments... It has been a real struggle. Anyways, I was using the approach of using an entyti state variable to record the time when it enters the member queue and another one to register when it leaves the given queue and then tally it. The problem is with combiners, the parent entity "wins" and so using ModelEntity.State Variable - reffering the one from the member - does not work. Any ideas? Thanks
  24. [UPDATED] We had the attached library developed a couple of years ago. Not sure who the developer was but recognition to him. Would appreciate if someone would update, extend, and re-post, afterall sharing is caring !! I think it a great idea and leap forward to start pushing Simio towards volumetric modelling, opposed to just utilising the 3D space for animation purposes. 25. I had this weird idea: Is it possible to trigger some options from the Run ribbon through Processes or something else? For exemple: When certain event occurs, it resets the simulation. Or it automatically fast-forward or changes animation speed. I know it's possible to end the run, but how about the other options? Thanks!
