  1. Hey!! I have container entities that are waiting to enter a filler. I need (for visualization and logical purposes) the allow passing property of the paths be FALSE, but, when I do this, I can't find the expression that returns the number of container entities waiting on the path to get inside the input buffer of the filler. I am attaching a picture that will clarify the problem. In this scenario, I need an expression that returns 4. I have tried many expressions and none seem to work. Does anybody know how to achieve this? Thank you very much!
  2. Hi Everyone, is there a way to always show all the Path labels without click on them?
  3. Hello, I'm college student preparing the contest sponsored by "KOREA SOCIETY FOR SIMULATION". So I'm making model which has no input buffer , just remaining on the path. But the issue is that, if i set the input buffer as 0, the source makes entities only two, which is the sum of the sever's capacity.... I have seen that kind of model at the jsmith.co , but my model doesn't act like that.. What should I do for my model? isThereInputBufferCapa.spfx
  4. Hi I want the selection weight of the paths to change by the entity type. Ideally if it can be chosen from a data-table. Example: From server1 to server2, server3 and server4 PartA - server 3 Weight 2 server4 weight 8 PartB - Server2 weight 3 Server3 weight 4 Server4 weight 3 Can someone help me to find a solution for it? Thank you!
  5. Is there any way to disconnect a path from a server / node and connect it to another server / node without deleting the path?
  6. Hi! I want to know if it is possible to put a statistical distribution in the distance of a path. Thanks for your help.
  7. I'm trying to model a towing company. A call comes either jump start or tow (entity 1 and 2) from two different sources. They go through a dispatch (server1) and get delivered to a specific driver (servers 2,3,4 or 5) . Each call coming in will have some exponentially distributed distance from origin associated with it (and direction component?) My challenges are: Is there a way to take and entity from a source and move it into free space some vector away from the source (distance and direction). Then, if that is possible, can I move a server to that location to process it (and if a tow then move some other vector distance after process). Finally, the ultimate goal of the model is to create a conditional routing logic for the dispatch server to compare distance from call and availability of drivers. Such that if a driver is finishing up near the next call, that server will take priority over the one with an empty queue if further away. TLDR: Can servers move? Is there a way I can change how long a path is based on variable input?
  8. Hello, I want to model an evacuation network design problem with Simio. My goal is to consider traffic congestion in the model. Congestion happens when road capacity is not enough for that amount of people immediately leave the source node. I was wondering if you could let me know how to consider capacity for either path or connector. I would be happy if you could share an example with me. Thanks, Nadere
  9. How do you use the transfer step to bring an entity from a path to another node. Currently at the reached end condition of the path I created a Transfer Step process that moves it to another node. I keep getting the error "The entity's current location '[EndOfLink] Path3' is invalid for attempting the specified transfer request". When I set From to EndOfLink I cannot fill any 'To' options. What do I do?
  10. Hi everyone, Im currently modeling a facility layout and it has plenty of paths between machines. is there a way to generate a path list with inputs and outputs, so it would be easier to keep track of their routes?
  11. Hi, I implemented a model similiar to the SimBit 'Single Worker Completes Process And Moves To Node' but in my model the the worker can arrive first at Server2 than the entity (which represents that the work to be made in the entity is already finished), so it's not necessary to have a Worker in Server2 for it to work. By implementing a different release on the Worker I managed to move the Worker back to BasicNode1 before the entity has entered Server2, but it will move always with the same DesiredSpeed. I wanted to know if there is a way to move the Worker from BasicNode2 to BasicNode1 with a different velocity from the one defined to move the Woker from BasicNode1 to BasicNode2. I'm rookie, any help it's welcomed. Manel
  12. Within my model, there is a server (server1) with the outbound node set to route out by link weight. There are multiple paths connected to this outbound node that each connect directly to their own sink. There are vehicles parked at this server1's outbound node that transport the entities along these paths to the sinks. All entities that arrive at server1 should be routed out to one of these sinks. I have another server (server2) which should have no vehicles parked at the outbound node. Instead, whenever an entity arrives at server2, a vehicle should travel from the outbound link at server1 to the outbound link at server2, pick up the entities at server2, and carry them along the path connected to the outbound link of sever2. When I build a path directly from the outbound node at server1 to the outbound node at server2, this seems to mess up the outbound routing logic at server1. Is there any way to make this happen without messing server1's outbound routing logic? Essentially, I want to create a path that ONLY routes out a vehicle (no entities) if there is a demand for a vehicle at server2's outbound node.
  13. Can we dynamically change the linkweight of a path???
  14. Hi All, At the moment, I'm trying to model a warehouse. This warehouse consists of aisles: long sections of bi-directional paths, intermitted by basic nodes that represent picking locations. Workers walk through these aisles to pick orders. See also the attachment: the nodes are not visible but there are 20 nodes in every aisle. However, the bi-directional path does not enable workers to walk in two directions. It is possible for workers to encouter each other while traversing the aisle in opposite direction. This will create a blocking situation. I tried to solve it by using the 'Travel' step, such that the workers travel through 'free space' within a certain width around the warehouse network (setting 'avoind collision' to 'true). The problem however still exists. Is there a neat solution for this? It is a possibility to introduce all sort of extra bypass paths. However, this will make the model more complex and introduces walked distance biases. One of the purposes of this model is to compare theoretical picking times (based on walking straight through the aisle) with simulation. Adding extra bypass paths would violate therefore the purpose of the model. Thanks in advance for your suggestions! Wouter
  15. Hi everyone! As the title sugests I want to know if there is some way to access the entities that are on a Path, similar to what we can do to access the elements on a queue. Thanks
  16. Hi How can I define the selection weight of a path using a state variable? it is supposed to change throughout the run. Can I used a table to do that? if yes, how? Thanks
  17. In the model I attached, I would like entity1 to move based on a sequence, as I assigned it, but entity2 to to go in at transfer node1, and as it reaches the crossroads, go to alternative paths, path8-9-10, with 5% probability each. As far as I know this is not doable since they are different different routing logics, one is based on a sequence, and the other is on a probabilistic manner. Am I wrong? 20. Hi, do we have the possibility to export 2D / 3D graphic in a standard format (like *.JT)? Tks for your support, Dietmar.
  21. Hi, I have a model with one source and four servers and have my entities line up in one queue until a server is ready to process the entity (similar to SimBits One Queue For Multiple Servers). I have a path from my outputsource to my transfer node where my entities queue up. I have a floor label with stats that update as the model runs. My issue is that the stats in my floor label are dependent on the physical length of the path I drew from outputsource to transfer node; if I have a shorter path, I will have a smaller number of entities in the queue and smaller min, max, average wait times and vice versa for a longer path. Questions: 1. should I be using path or timepath? I can't get timepath to have "Allow Passing" be False, so I assume I cannot use timepath instead of path. But path appears dependent on the physical length of the path drawn. 2. are my floor labels correct? 3. what library function do I use to see all the entities queued up? or if I can't see them all, then at least to have the right stat tallied in my floor label? I have a feeling this is related to path. 4. I also put status pies on my servers; I assumed that since my servers appear to be all working to capacity and I have a very long queue, that I would see the "processing" get to 100% very quickly, which it doesn't. Even when the run is complete, all my servers are still only working at 83% capacity. Why is this? Thanks again for any input. Attached is my model. Maryam queue.spfx
  22. Dear colleagues, we're starting to post a number of graphical symbols that can be useful for your models. Greetings, Note: We built them with SketchUp on purpose to be used within Simio. You're free to use them and share them with other Simio customers, but please don't divulgate them on Google Warehouse. Symbols4Simio.ZIP
  23. Hello everybody, A part of my model consists on a timepath. Is it possible to hold the entities in that time path during the weekend? Then, in Monday, they would resume movement from the freezing point. Many thanks, people, João Semeano
  24. Hello, I have to simulate a circular conveyor which serves 3 workstations (3combiners). When an entity (box) waits for a combiner (the combiner is busy) it must stop the boxes which arrive behind (even if they do not have to go to the combiner involved). I tried to create a storage queue as in the example "UsingAStorageQueue" but only the boxes which are combined are removed from the waiting queue after being processed and all the boxes are split in 2 when they are inserted in the queue: one waits and the other continues on the conveyor... How can I fix this?
  25. When a node has multiple outbound links how is the path traveled on selected? On the node, there is a property called OutboundLinkRule that determines how a link is selected. If OutboundLinkRule is By Link Weight, it looks to the Selection Weight property of all outbound links. The probability of selecting a particular link is ((link weight)/(the sum of the weights of all outbound links)). So if link A has a weight of 20 and link B has a weight of 100, the probability of selecting link A is 20/(20+100)=0.167. If OutboundLinkRule is Shortest Path, then the path will be selected by determining which link has the shortest path to the entity's destination, using By Link Weight as a tie breaker. If the entity does not have a destination, then it uses By Link Weight.
