Got issues with a combiner. i have a server that processes the member parts but has a 0.1 probability of going to scrap, this means the batch size has changed. the parent part has a integer state that gets updated when this happens but doesn't update the combiner batch quantity property. I have attached an image showing this issue. you can see the pallet number displayed which is the way i match the parts with the correct pallet. the pallet(parent) also displays the batch size using the same integer state which i use in the combiner logic. Theres a pallet with 4 items on it and it shows the batch is 4 so why wont that process it? Also attached the whole model so you can look at it all Batch and Scrap.spfx

Hello Javiera, Based on how the model is set up, Guardian_1 and Guardian_2 follow Work Schedules with specific Day Patterns. Looking through the Trace lines, it appears that Pedido_PU.597 arrives and seizes Guardian_1 which, not much longer after it was seized, was scheduled to go off shift based on Work Schedules. The current Off Shift Rule is 'Suspend Processing' which causes the entity being processed to be suspended until the exact Resource is back on shift. To allow the entity to choose an alternative on shift resource, the Off Shift Rule property can be changed it to 'Switch Resources if Possible'. Best Regards, Khaled

Hey Simio insiders, I have been working on a model with workers. The workers transport goods over a facility, from one server to another. They seem to work perfectly until about 2 hours into the simulation. I have been looking into the the 'watch' properties, and it appears that the worker is waiting for something. This happens eventough i do not have a wait process in place. It waits at a server which it is about to drop an entity. The server input buffer is infinity, since i thought it might have caused the problem. Do any of you know why my worker is waiting?

hello i'm the simio user in south korea i want to make my model flexibily. My model has vehicle and elevator The overall process flow is vehicle take entities to server1, After vehicle arrived to server1, elevator take entities and go to every destination. To work well, Three things are needed for this trend First, i want to do if the vehicle comes to server1 then the elevator goes to upstair Second, the vehecle has to wait until the elevator after been to upstair and arrive to server1 Third, repeat the two steps. how can i solve the problem this model in Model2, not Model1 1veh1eleModel.spfx

Unfortunately you are not able to concatenate those pieces together to get a State Variable reference that will work. You can really only piece things together, or search through and find part of something within a name, with a String. Strings are not able to be understood as a State Variable reference, nor converted to something that could be understood. Instead, I might suggest an approach with a Data Table. Although this adds a tedious step of putting everything in to a Data Table, it then becomes really easy to Search the Data Table for the State Variable you are looking for. I attached an example model for you to investigate. In this model, you need the Data Table with a String Column so that the Search step can look through this collection of Strings and find the String that Contains certain substrings. See the Search's Match Condition property and the String Contains function. Also, the Data Table could contain a State Property column which then references the State Variables you created in the Definitions tab. How can I model where the robot always pick 2 parts and waits until 2 parts are available at output buffer of the server. (Robot is available in extras library). i have multiple servers in the model.

Hi There, I have lots of experience in simulation but I'm new to Simio - my apologies if my Simio vocabulary/conceptualization is off or if this question has been asked already. I'm working to build a queue model simulation with a network of services and multiple staff types. In my mind, it makes the best sense to do this using the standard library of servers and resource pools (to visualize the network for stakeholders and be able to model multiple staff with different schedules that can each respond to multiple services). Right now, I am starting with a single stage M/M/c type queue to make sure that my implementation is correct before scaling this upwards. I checked out the SimBit titled 'Source – Server – Sink' that has three different M/M/c implementations; however, none of them use Resource Pool objects or combine process triggers with the standard library. I was able to implement a basic model that tries to combine a resource pool with a server by triggering separate Seize and Release process triggers on entry to the server object and after the processing time is completed, respectively. It runs without error; however, the results for average time in system (calculated by an average of a tally statistic that is only recorded for every 500th customer/entity), the results are one third less than in a scenario where I don't use a resource pool and set the capacity of the server explicitly, (which I validated against M/M/c formulae results). Does anyone have tips for how to link servers and resource pools and troubleshoot this scenario? Is there a SimBit or other example out there that is relevant? Am I triggering the seize/resource processes at the wrong points in time? Or is my framework for how to conceptualize this in the Simio environment missing a key concept? Thanks!!

Hi! In my model I have entities called "Pedido" which have a state called "id_del_pedido" which is equal to the ID of the entity. These entities will enter a Separator that will create copies of the entity according to a probability distribution. Since the new entities are copies of the parent entity, they will have the same "id_del_pedido" status as the parent entity. Subsequently, the entities created will enter a Server that acts as a warehouse. This Server is linked to a Combiner, when the parent entity reaches the Combiner's parentinput I want only entities whose "id_del_pedido" is equal to the ID of the entity that reached the Combiner's parentinput to leave the server. This works perfectly in the first Server-Combiner set of my model, but, the Combiner's outputnode is attached to another Combiner and I want to repeat the same activity as in the first Combiner but I get an error that I don't know how to solve. Hi! can you help me please? In my model I have a server that I want to function as storage, this server is linked to a combiner which will combine the member entities that leave the server with a parent entity that will arrive at it from another node. Each member entity has a state with a unique number linking it to a parent entity (there may be more than one member entity with the same state number). How can I extract from the server only the member entities whose state is equal to the state of the parent entity that arrives at the parentinput of the combiner? Thank you so much! 18.10.spfx

I want to build a simple repository model,as the Picture below. And there are two Funktions, that i donn't know, how to implement. The first Problem is: I hope that several products with different total amount can be generated in sequence one by one. For Example, there are 50 Product A, 40 Product B and 30 Product C at Source WE. They schould be generated in sequence. First 50 Product A,1,2,3...50 one by one generated. Then 40B, generated one by one and finally C. At present, I can only achieve one-time generation of all A, then all B and All C. The second Problem ist: there are may be 10 Vehicles in the System. I want to record the total time of the car loaded and empty travel time, and the corresponding percentage of these two items. I would be very very grateful if you could help. I'm really in a hurry and hope to get your help.

I think if you set the max to 30, if 14 are generated all 14 (or other <30 number) will enter the workers ride queue and will be transported. You could also keep the ride capacity at 1, model the 14 pallets as 1 entity (lets call this a shipment entity), have the worker move that 1 entity to the next location, and then use a separator to turn the shipment entity into some number of pallet entities. Hi, I'm having trouble with unit conversion when doing state assignments at a source. There are two different cases where this problem appears in the model: Subtracting TimeNow minus a Date Time state variable (ModelEntity.stWaitingListEntryDate) Although the specified unit for this property is 'Days', the assigned value is in hours and the unit is also 'Hours'. If I manually convert it by dividing by 24, the assigned value is in days, but the displayed unit is still ‘Hours’. Unit conversion issue when assigning a new value to a state variable from a data table Although the PatientsData.MaxWaitingTime is a real property with default unit ‘Days’, the assigned value to the state variable is converted to ‘Hours’. As in the first case, if I manually convert it by dividing by 24, the assigned value is in days, but the displayed unit is still ‘Hours’. In the attached model (time_units_conversion.spfx) you will find a simple example where you can see this in more detail. Any suggestions to solve this issue will be highly appreciated. I was inspired by the VehicleX3 (vehicle with operator) that was shared on this forum. I would like to use this type of VehicleX3 with an operator who is a worker to simulate a process where the operator is required to take breaks after certain periods of activity. To implement this logic, I think it would be helpful to have Reliability Logic for the worker object in Simio. This doesn't seem to be part of the standard library so I tried to create my own subclass version of Worker with the Reliability Logic "copied" from the Resource object. My attempt to implement this custom object seems to work as long as the custom worker object doesn't "move". If the custom worker object moves, I get the Runtime error "Possible infinite loop detected in process logic". Any assistance in getting the logic working properly, or pointing me to an existing custom worker object that has Reliability Logic incorporated would be greatly appreciated. I'm attaching my small example model to illustrate the error when the worker (P1) is required to move to the Dest1 server as a required secondary resource for processing. Hello, and thanks for the Vehicle with Driver model; it seems quite useful. However, I've run into a problem when using two different vehicles that require the same driver; wondering if someone can help. Situation is where a Part (Entity) requires Vehicle_A with Driver_1 to go from Source to Station_1, then requires Vehicle_B with Driver_1 to go from Station_1 to Station_2 (Exit). If another Part arrives at Source (requesting Vehicle_A) while Driver_1 is busy with Vehicle_B, the request gets put into the global VehicleRequestQueue. When Driver_1 becomes free/idle, it looks at the global queue and sees the request, but for some reason Driver_1 seems to ignore it ("...failed to find and plan an eligible visit request"). Is that because the request was for Vehicle_A and not the Driver? If so, how would I get Driver_1 matched up again with Part Entity requests for Vehicle_A? Thoughts? Thanks, John

Hi, currently I am doing my internship at a logistics company. I am simulating the warehouse process, but due to the limitation in the number of symbols I have split the process in an inbound model and an outbound model. Now I came across a problem. There is a X number of employees which both work in the inbound and outbound model. Is there a way that both models can make use of one workers list? Or another way to solve this problem.
