  1. I did search for these information in the SimBit you referred. In the attach you can check the model. As you can see, when you open test.csv, the values in the file appear separated by commas and not in different columns. LabelBrandCSVFile.spfx LabelBrandCSVFile.spfx
  2. The next three-day Standard Simio Training class, open to the public, will be held on August 14-16. The classes will be held in the McLean VA area, convenient to Dulles and Reagan airports and local transportation. Also plenty of hotel accommodation in the area and nearby downtown Washington, D.C. and all its attractions. The fee for the class is $1,485 per attendee. More information on Simio training: http://mosimtec.com/services/training/ Contact me if you have any questions or would like to register. Best, Martin
  3. This is unfortunate, and I understand the need to protect the software. I am surprised that allowing business owners to open xml files that don't match the hash would leave a gaping hole. I am not, however, a security expert
  4. I know this is going to be a noob question, but is it possible to force a vehicle to perform tasks in an order dictated by priority? I have SeizeRequests with a MovementPriority of 1, and ResourcePickups with entity priorities > 1. How can I get the vehicle to ALWAYS perform the pickups in preference to the seizerequests?
  5. I have been on and off using Simio Enterprise for the last month (approximately). I have not made much headway in terms of tapping into the vast array of new features Enterprise offers. Are there any extra examples of things I can do with this tool, particularly in relation to the Gantt chart? We are very interested in seeing our processes mapped to the Gantt chart, but have hit a dead-end at every turn. I can see from the one example provided (that I could find, which also happened to be the one from the webinar), that it is possible to model a manufacturing process that has a set a
  6. I may be missing something, but is it possible to write out in a tab delimetered form? The only option seems to be ',' (default), and any form that does not involve tabs (makes you skip to next field when you try to enter it in the Format property).
  7. This is something I have heard others talk about, but never actually got working for myself. Is it possible to reference a file with a dynamic name? I want to write out to a csv file during simulation runs, but the write originates from a submodel. This means that it is called multiple times, meaning that only one of my sub models actually gets to write. What is the easiest way to over come this? And yes, the write must originate from the sub-model.
  8. Just a word of warning using .simproj (or .xml) files with SVN: if there is a conflict you cannot use the merge capabilities of SVN because the Simio hash will no longer match. Simio will not open the "resolved" file. This limits the usefulness of version control particularly in an environment with multiple developers (or, in my case, an inexperienced SVN user ) Perhaps another reason to allow licensed users the ability to edit/load xml files? Thanks, Adam Yeah that is a good point. We were aware of it, and somewhat frustrated by it. What we were after though is a bette

  10. I believe the situation is that you have a model (A) and want to create another similar model (B), with plans to eventually load both models into a new project ©, as two different project libraries. And you’d like to create model B based off of model A to save effort, since the models are similar. Instead of copying and pasting the model in file explorer, we recommend the following approach. Open a new project and load model A into the project as a library. Go to the Navigation window and click onto the project name. With that project selected, you should have access to an Edit r
  11. In fact, opening it to third party providers was not on our list of reasons to implement this - we had many other very good internal reasons. And there are other (programmatic) methods provided to interact with external programs. We actually debated internally about even telling anyone that it was XML because it might set false expectations. But we decided that there are many benefits that users could (and have) realized from using the XML and so we made it as open and usable as we could without "giving away the farm". I can certainly understand your user perspective and I agree XML has gr

  13. I feel the same way. Using XML to save the model is great, but it only pays off if you allow other tools to actually edit the model. That's the whole point of XML in my opinion, to make open the model for third-party providers. So I am with you that Simio should offer a way to allow paying users to edit XML and be able to load the models afterwards. Think of the possibilities it would give you for dynamic model creation...
  14. This is something I have been meaning to implement for a while, and now have finally decided it needs to be done. I have a submodel, and due to the limitations of the software can't transfer it into the submodel and keep the model clean. I followed advice posted here, and have made the submodel seize the worker and send it to a node in the higher level model... while the submodel is in progress. Is there a nice efficient way to have the worker/vehicle (vehicles are the new worker in terms of having all the functionality i require) able to interrupt the submodel and either remember wh
  15. I'm trying to use vehicles to move entities around very, very large models, that I am breaking up into other submodels. My desired approach is to have vehicles transfer into the submodels while transporting entities and move through the submodel, both along paths and through other fixed objects and stations. I can't for the life of my figure out how to get this working... Anyone have any ideas? I've attached an example model. This model has a some objects set up in my desired structure, as well as some objects set up with my desired behaviour but not using any submodels. Vehicle
  16. Is it possible to have a seize request time out? If so, how? Right now, I have a pool of workers and the servers which assign tasks by seizing a free member of the pool. For some reason, when most of the workers go on break, the servers all seize the one working worker and gives it a very long seize queue. This leaves the rest of the workers idle when they get back onshift, until that one hero worker finishes his queue. Perhaps what I need is some kind of central seize queue, where the workers can choose the highest priority seize request, instead of each having their own queue?
  17. Is it possible to move or spawn a node at a new (X, Y, Z)? I have to modeling scenario where the path changes each pass (the path becomes steeper or shallower). The only two possible ways of tackling this, that I can see, is to be able to move the node, or destroy it and create another in the correct position. EDIT: I can see that it is possible to spawn Objects (seemingly exclusive to Vehicles and Workers) at new positions, and possibly even to move them, using the Object.Movement.X etc property... even though I would have thought it was the Object.Location property that contro
  18. I am trying to use XML to edit my model instead of having to drag and drop 200+ resources. I save my model as a .XML and then open it up and try and edit something ... anything... even just the name of a minor/un-used state variable. After I save any changes to the XML file I try and open it back up in Simio and receive the following error "Failed to open.... Reason: Unable to verify XML contents" Anyone have thoughts on this issue. or a better easy way to create a large number of resources with out dragging and dropping them. -Andrew
  19. Is simulation123 still open to new members. I try and access the website but am greeted with a request for username and password.
  20. Many people are unaware that you can look at how all the standard library objects are built - simple drage an object from the library window to the project window. Then right click on that object and you can open its process and other views. The Source object already does both things, it just is not designed to do both at the same time. But you can do what you want with parallel sources - e.g. one source for initial entities and one source for periodic entities. Some other choices: -Use the process above to create your own MySource object that allows initialization and recurring entitie
  21. Ok, I think I am doing something wrong here: I would like to debug the "OnEnteredInputBuffer" process of the server object you provided with the standard library. In order to view the processes, I have to add the server to the "Model" window, right click and open the process view. Now I can place my breakpoint. But when I create a model with an instance of that server and run it, it never stops, although the "model trace" is activated. What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Nick
  22. We have made some changes to this upcoming sprint as to how the "End" point of a process looks. But in the current and some of the previous sprints, the "Available" point functions the same way as the "End" point. I am not certain why your model isn't running. Can you please submit your model to the support@simio.biz e-mail address along with what you are trying to model? When you are in the Process view, select the step that you want to have a Breakpoint placed on. Then click on the Breakpoint button. When you run your model, it will Pause or Break on when the process is tr
  23. Troubleshooting tips: Recognizing and diagnosing graphics issues. How to recognize graphics issues: Graphics issues normally occur after you have already successfully loaded the Simio executable. Error messages or graphical errors may appear once you perform the following actions: • You try to create a new model or open a model. • After placing objects in the Facility view, you notice that the object image or parts of it (like the green queue lines) cannot be seen. Some steps you can try yourself: • Make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date. • Confirm that
