  1. I am trying to load models into a licensed version of SIMIO RPS that have been created in the academic version of Simio. I am getting a meesage that states that these non-commercial models cannot be loaded into a commercial version of Simo. Is there a way to load theses non-commercial models into the licensed version of Simio RPS? I would like to be able to take advantage in using these academic models to provide solutions that we are identifying.
  2. I know it's been a while, but I just came across this question and I'm responding in case this can help someone else. Depending on the problem, modeling nurses as patient capacity might not work; for example, if you need to limit both a nurse's active utilization and the nurse's patient load. Two general approaches exist: Easier: Create two different resources, rename one 'NursesActive' and the other 'NursesPassive.' Set the latter to have n times the capacity of the former, where n is the patient ratio at n:1. Require simultaneous seizure of one of each type of resource when first assigning the patient, and release them separately, re-seizing the former as needed. Harder: Subclass the Resource object and create states to track the patients assigned and a property to define the patient ratio. This approach enables more fine-tuning as necessary.
  3. Hi , I have a system with a combiner, that combines different variations of batches. On exiting the combiner the crane picks the combined entity up and drops up at a server. Each of the different batches will have a different load and unload time. Is there a way to do this? Basically, does batch contain product ‘A’ if so crane time is ‘X Mins’ Does batch contain product ‘B’ if so crane time is ‘Y Mins’ Thanks for any help!
  4. Hey Simio insiders, I have been working on a model with workers. The workers transport goods over a facility, from one server to another. They seem to work perfectly until about 2 hours into the simulation. I have been looking into the the 'watch' properties, and it appears that the worker is waiting for something. This happens eventough i do not have a wait process in place. It waits at a server which it is about to drop an entity. The server input buffer is infinity, since i thought it might have caused the problem. Do any of you know why my worker is waiting?
  5. thank you, it really helps a lot. do you have any idea to record the total time of the car loaded and empty travel time? i have subclass the vehicle, define a vehiclelist with different string and modify the vehicle process "oncapacityallocated", "onriderloaded" and "onriderunloading" als emptytravel and loadedtravel. But i works not so good, the time are not so correct. Especially when i define the "load time" and "unload time", these time are also counted.
  6. My simulation is looking at maintaining inventory levels at multiple servers across a road network. Inventory is delivered via transports and is processed at each station at a rate of 1 item per hour (constant). What I am trying to do is to run some experiments to determine effects of different parameters on delivery system performance (ability to maintain inventory at (between 0-12) at each server location for the duration (72 hours is the current short test case). I have my responses set up to report Input@Server1.AssociatedStationLoad however the numbers are being listed between 0 and 1 instead of 0 and 12. Additionally, in the experiment output I get a 1 or 0 per server per scenario iteration. What I need to see is if any (and what) server hits 0 at any given time by having an output give an inventory level at current time for the duration of each run. Any advice?
  7. I have 2 transports delivering entities to 3 servers. What should be happening is that Transport 1 loads entities to capacity (12) then moves to Server 1 and delivers all of the entities (12). Transport 2 should load 12 entities and deliver all 12 to Server 2. Transport 1 returns to Home Node and loads 12 more entities for delivery to Server 3... and so on. However, what is happening is that both Transports are loading 12 entities then moving to Server 1 and delivering 4 entities each, then on to Server 2 and repeat and so on. I have removed and added servers to confirm that for some reason the Transports are delivering 1/#ofServers of their total capacity, conducting all of their deliveries and then returning to home once empty. I have limited the timepath to each Server to only allow 1 Transport at a time, but then Transport 2 just waits at the Home Node until Transport 1 is on its way to Server 2. Then it moves to Server 1 and just ends up one node behind Transport 1 at all times. The dispatch logic: (Server1.InputBuffer.Contents.NumberWaiting <= 12)||(Server2.InputBuffer.Contents.NumberWaiting <= 12)||(Server3.InputBuffer.Contents.NumberWaiting <= 12); set at Smallest Value for Selection Goal; Selects from a List of all Server Nodes.
  8. Greetings. I need to model the operation plan for a new warehouse. The model must do the following tasks Receive great amount of bundles from production line (5 lines) Fill the storage cells based upon a strategy (this required an order to do the sloting. this orders must be satisfied by the vehicles). i have tried to do this by using sequence, but i need to repeat the sequence table rows until the cells capacity were completed. this is go to the same cell until its been filled and then change the destination cell (i can't achieve this). Do the prepicking task (again trough disptching rules). Load train or trucks in order to dispatch,. Any help or orientation willbe appreciated Best regards.
  9. Your colleague can create models that will be part of an object library for your model. - You can't join different models into a final one but - You can import a custom object library made by your colleague. On the project home tab > Load library > Select your colleague's SPFX file > Import Now you can drag and drop the premade objects into your cooperative final model. This is how I collaborate on projects.
  10. Hi Glen, I need your support for an error that I have to manage very often. My company set an automatic backup on One Drive and that is creating problem to load your Add-In. The body of the error is the following: Exception in loading types from 'C:\Users\username\OneDrive \documents\.\SimioUserExtensions\ExportImportModelAddIn.dll', message: 'Could not load file or assembly 'file:///C:\Users\username\OneDrive\documents\SimioUserExtensions\ExportImportModelAddIn.dll' or one of its dependencies. Operation is not supported. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131515)' Loading 'C:\Users\username\OneDrive\documents\.\SimioUserExtensions\ExportImportModelAddIn.dll' may have failed because the DLL was copied from another computer and has been blocked by Windows. To unblock it, copy the file to a user writable directory, right click on it and select Properties, on the General tab, click Unblock, then click OK, and then copy it back to your UserExtensions folder if necessary. Off course the file is unblocked, do you have some suggestion to fix it? Simio version is 11.197.19514.0
  11. As an update to this, I think I have (at least so far) found something which provides the desired behaviour and will detail below for others. I used the SimBit 'SelectServerWithShortestLine' as a reference. I created a Node list with the inputs nodes at each Sink listed. I created an integer Property to hold the variable which represents the maximum number entities that can go to a sink (e.g. MaxContainerCapacity). On the feeding TransferNode I changed the 'Entity Destination Type' to 'Select from List' and selected the list created in Step 1. Change 'Selection Goal' to 'Smallest Value' and set the 'Selection Expression' to Candidate.Node.AssociatedStationLoad, which accounts for everything en route, in the queue and processing at a node. Therefore, the select goal is to minimise this station load. I set the selection condition to (Candidate.Node.AssociatedStationLoad + Candidate.Sink.InputBuffer.NumberExited) < MaxContainerCapacity. Which is saying only select the Node found in Step 4 if the sum of the station load and the number of entities that have 'exited' the Sink are less than the MaxContainerCapacity.
  12. Hi jord41, Simio loads the bound tables once during the initialization in the Simio tables. Data access requires a lot of computing time. (More for writing as reading). I see that you only have 1 column of integer values. My recommendation is that you do not import the table into a Simio table. It's best to create an integer or real state of type vector. Then you use e.g. the Read-Step or the ExcelRead-Step. In conjunction with a timer or the sample example loop of GFurtado you can load the data at intervals. I think that this could be a solution. At least that's how I would do it if I had to work with real-time data. Normally, such real-time data is written to a SQL database by a PLC or something like that. Then you can use the SQL steps anytime in Simio. Best regards Pascal
  13. maybe you need to give us more details. for example, what is the entity priority lists for each vehicles..and what next load the vehicles will choose ? need a example...
  14. Hello I mean each vehicle select its next load based on its unique strategy. for example, we define different entity priority lists for different each vehicles. I am trying to differentiate the behavior of the vehicles to select the next load. Regards Amin
  15. 2) How can I extract the total amount of times or distances that a vehicle is traveling empty (without load)? you should subclass the vehicle and create a list containing all the loadstus(string) and in its process logic( like OnRiderLoaded, RideStation.Exited....) you need to assign its loadstatus appropriately. then you can get the results using a pie chart:
  16. Hello I am working on the road transportation problem and I use the vehicles. I have a couple of questions about the vehicle's features and usage. 1) How can I define an Off Shift for the vehicles? 2) How can I extract the total amount of times or distances that a vehicle is traveling empty (without load)? 3) Is there any way to create any response regarding the average performance of all the vehicles used (i.e. average idle time of the vehicles) to perform an experiment? Thanks, Amin
  17. Need some direction on creating mass load of entities. Attached is my file for version 10.174. Haven’t updated yet to 187. In the file I have two models: VIR_Workflow and CVOR. I’m trying to recreate what I did in VIR_Workflow where I imported a table of all the entities. It would be daunting to creating hundreds of individual entities. I want to do the same thing with CVOR however, it did not load to create the entities itself as I thought is capable of doing. There’s over 5000 entities for this model. I have also attached the CVS files I used to import data. Please advise the best way to load in pre-sets of data to create the entities instead of doing it manually. Or if there's something simpler in doing what I want to do please share. I think I missed some kind of step. SIMIO.zip
  18. Subclass a transfer node then define two properties: LoadTime and UnloadTime. Then use these subclassed nodes in your model and set the values of LoadTime and UnloadTime properties appropriately for each subclassed transfer nodes. Also, define two properties on modelentity: you can name them as LoadTime and UnloadTime. Then, define an entered add-on process for each subclassed transfer nodes where you should assign ModelEntity.LoadTime=LoadTime and ModelEntity.UnloadTime=UnloadTime. Now, by setting loadtime and unloadtime properties of crane object as ModelEntity.UnloadTime and ModelEntity.LoadTime you can get different times for load and unload times at different points.
  19. I need to simulate a crane moving entities between different points. But the problem is the load and unload time are not the same in all those points. I need to be able to define somehow the crane load & unload time as a variable (node depending). I wonder if anyone has dealed with this problem before? Rds.
  20. I'm very new to Simio. I'm trying to figure out the impact on maintenance schedule/work load. I have excel file with 300 pieces of equipment and forecasted operating hours for the next 5 years by month. The operating hours varies from month to month. As the item gains time, there are different maintenance action that takes place, up to 5 different maintenance actions. The next problem is over the 5 years the number of equipment will double. How do I read the excel file? Each row is piece of equipment, the columns are projected hours of operation for that month. How do I store operating time for each piece of equipment? Thanks
  21. @ResultLand I understand. I am not sure about the level of success you will have with these suggestions, but they may be worth a try. Nevertheless, in the time that you vet these processes, it may be just as easy to re-create your entity in the new model. (1) You could try deleting the new model ModelEntity from the Navigation pane, then rename your entity of interest to ModelEntity. (2) From your old model, save a version which just contains the entity of interest (delete all other objects in the Navigation pane), then load the file as a library in the new model after deleting the default ModelEntity from the new model. Finally, use the subclass feature to subclass your entity of interest and use newly created entity (from the subclass feature of your entity of interest) in the model. Subclassing the entity will allow you to manipulate the entity object definition, as you would expect. I hope this information helps. Thanks for using the forum. Regards, Alex
  22. I think I know which video you are mentioning and it is quite old - perhaps from Simio 1.0. Many things, especially building objects, have gotten much easier since then. The interface you still mentioned is still available -- it is the External view found under the Definitions tab. But there is a much easier way now. In my classes, I typically give a demonstration where I start by building a TandemServer, then hierarchically build 3-4 more objects, revise all the objects, save the project as a library, then load that library and build a model from that new library - all in the space of 10 minutes! I have attached a very informally recorded snippet of a class. Perhaps it will be helpful. BuildingObjects_QuickDemo.mp4
  23. Either in the Load Time property or the Loaded add-on process trigger of the object (let's say Worker1) you could add an expression something like this: (Worker1[1].CurrentNode==TransferNode1)* 5 to get a delay of 5 only when at that specific node.
  24. Hi all, in my model I have a specific transfer node where a worker transfers an entity to a vehicle. I cant add the load unloading times in the worker or vehicle due to the fact that there is only loading time in this transfer point exactly. I was wondering if there is a way to directly add a "processing time" to this transfer point. Maybe by creating a subclass? Thanks
  25. Hello all and thanks for letting me be a part of Simius Insiders I have a question with my model. How can I create dynamic routes of my vehicle (AGV) to attend different events. For example if the server B1 finished its process the vehicle should go from S1 with an entity (pallet), go to A1 (input server A1) then go to B1 (server output B1) take the load and finally take it to S2. Once the entity is left in S2, go to S1 and wait for another event. Another event would be: server A2 ends its process then the vehicle should go from S1 with an entity (pallet), go to B1 (input server B1) then go to A2 (output server A2) take the load and finally take it to S2 . How could I do this programming? Thank you very much Modelo2Pulmones.spfx
