  1. If you haven't already done so, I'd start by reviewing the SimBit ResourceSelectionConcepts. It contains several models that explain different types of resource selection. In particular, I'd suggest a combination of the following approaches: Create a table for each Worker (and/or each Server) where columns in the table represent the constraint or exclusions. For example, you might have a server table with columns for each day, and each column might contain a list of workers who can potentially be used on that day. Use resource lists to select from. possibly with exclusion conditions (maybe referring back to a table) of which resources cannot be used on that server and that day.
  2. Hello everyone! I'm new in Simio. I hope you guys could spare a moment to assist me with a challenge I'm facing. I have a problem in my simulation model, I have one entity routed at random to one of two lines for processing. These processes follow distinct sequences as describes as follows. 1st sequence (A): S11 - TN11 - TN21 - S22 - S23 - TN22 - TN12 - S14 - Sink1. 2nd sequence (B): S21 - TN21 - TN11 - S12 - S13 - TN12 - TN22 - S24 - Sink2. I intend to integrate a neural network to predict the average makespan, similar to the Neural Network solution provided in the Sample SimBit Solutions. However, I encountered a discrepancy between the example model and my model. In the example model, there is a "Path" feature, which allows for the definition of specific routes. Unfortunately, my model cannot use the "Path" since my model has selection logic for choose transportation in the transfer node either use crane or vehicle, so I need to use a sequence table for the entity to ensure it follows the desired paths. The issue arises when attempting to utilize the neural network. I need to use the "Select From List" for the "Entity Destination Type" in the "Output@Source1" part (I already made the list of nodes = Input@S11 & Input@S21). However, I cannot use this since I already used the sequence table for the entity. As I know from the SimBit, I need to set "Entity Destination Type" by using "Select From List" with the selection goal = random as a base model, and later I will change it with the neural network output. However, from the beginning of this process, an error occurred, as depicted in the attached image. So, I just think could Simio do this: if entity go to Input@S11 then use the 1st sequence, if entity go to input@S21 then use the 2nd sequence but still using the "Select From List" for "Entity Destination Type" since later I will use the smallest value from Neural Network for the selection goal. I also attached my model below for more understanding about my model. Thank you for helping me. Best Regards, Oey Aldi Winata BASE MODEL.spfx
  3. Hello everyone, I have a server which can potentially have many entities waiting in the input queue. All these entities have different priorities (as a model entity state variable). I want to retrieve these values to then select the highest one and put it on a status label to track this during the run. Is there an option to do this? Regards, MF
  4. You want to make the servers have a Capacity Type of Schedule and follow the default Standard Week. If you don't want to give them a lunch break, just change the definition of the Standard Day. Leave the default Off Shift Rule of Suspend Processing. The easiest approach for arrivals is to have a Source with an Interarrival time of 4.33 weeks (or 4 weeks) and an integer random distribution for the Entities Per Arrival. Doing a "first Monday" is possible, but a bit complicated because Simio time does not have the concept of Month because months are of varying size. You could probably specify the initial Time Offset to be early in a month, then maybe make the interarrival time be something like DateTime.DaysInMonth(DateTime.Month(Timenow),DateTime.Year(TimeNow)) which would make the next arrival be exactly one month later (same day of the month). When you say you have no buffers, what do you mean? If an entity arrives when all servers are busy, should it be balked (possibly disposed) or should it wait somewhere like on the server input node, on a path or in the Source output node? If the above arrival approach isn't exact enough, you can put exact arrivals in a data table. The arrival time could be specified at any exact datetime you desire and still have the Entities Per Arrival be a distribution.
  5. Hi all! I am simulating a facility with nearly 40 servers, each one starting with some entities in the input node at initialization and having a different capacity. Each server has a 0 input buffer capacity. My entity creation is currently set to having an interarrival time to be 4.33 weeks (1 month) with a random number of entities created. Currently, it runs 24/7 and does not care about the time, but I want to incorporate that. How can I make it so that the entities arrive once a month, let's say the first Monday, at 8am? How can I make it so the servers are only processing between 8am and 4pm Monday - Friday? The work schedule doesn't seem to work for me, but I could be doing it wrong, since I have a 0 input buffer, which I can't change as it's part of my routing logic for overflow. I would be happy with using timers or a process logic if someone can explain it to me. Ideally, the entities only arrive when it's during the working time, and the entities remaining after 4pm are just put on hold until 8am the next day. Thanks in advance!
  6. Yes, and it did not work for me. The object-reference (server) property created (and named as "exampleVariable") does not appear in the property window of server objects.
  7. Hello everyone, I am trying to add a new property for a Server object, which would be a string. For instance, the property needs to be something like "Type of Patient" (that each server can attend). I created a property within the Server's subclass, but it does not work. ¿How can I define a new property for a certain object? Thanks in advance, Marcel Favereau
  8. Hi, there is a simple approach you can use. Use Connectors between the queue server and the desks. At Buffer Logic of the Desks, change the Input Buffer Capacity to 0. Create a List with the Input nodes of the seven Desks. On the Output of the queue server change Entity Destination Type to Select From List and the goal to Smallest Value. Keep the default expression. It should work fine.
  9. I'm making a call center simio model. The 7 types of calls are generated at sources and then move down a path to a server. This server represents a queue that is formed at the call center. After the queue server the calls are transferred to 1 of 7 desks (which are represented by a server) where a call agent is working. How do I make it so the calls do not go to one of the server desks until a desk becomes available. As it currently stands the calls go right through the queue server and build up at some desks even if there are free desks available.
  10. I am trying to load models into a licensed version of SIMIO RPS that have been created in the academic version of Simio. I am getting a meesage that states that these non-commercial models cannot be loaded into a commercial version of Simo. Is there a way to load theses non-commercial models into the licensed version of Simio RPS? I would like to be able to take advantage in using these academic models to provide solutions that we are identifying.
  11. You are not able to use an index to return an item in a List. I would suggest using a Table instead of a List
  12. Ok, I think that I sort it out. I am not very confident of what I do but I think that it works now: I changed the Vehivle "Routing Logic". Idle action: Go to home AND I changed for every server, secondary resources: Earlier it did not work because the vehicle was stuck at the sink waiting for an entity to be available at the source. The idle action for the vehicle was to "Park at home"..
  13. Hello all I am relatively new to Simio and DES. I am trying to model a pallet conveyor. It is a closed loop conveyor. I use the "vehicle" as the pallet that loops around the conveyor. At the source the part (default entity) is loaded on the pallet. At the sink the part is unloaded. The problem that I am encountering is that the vehicles from time to time pile up at the sink, then after a certain amount of time they continue back to the starting point "Source1". This happens more the more I increas the "initialnumber in system" of vehicles The transfer-in Time for the sink is set at 0. At the model trace I read this for the "Input@Sink1" : "the in Token waiting at VisitNode step for '1' other processes to complete." I would apreciate any advice. Many thanks! 14. Hi, You won't need batch logics of the definition. Just the combiner is enough. I made a simplified version of your model. Producto1 requires 1 med and 1 big, while Producto 2 requires 1 small and 1 big. Pay attention to the process that I created at TransferNode1, you'll need to adjust it for the Producto3 and 4. Watch the Combiner Object aswell. Hope it helps. ExampleSimplified.spfx
  15. Hello Vinicius, thank you for you help but I still having problems with the model. I can understand the logic behind of the SimBit "CombineMultipleEntityTypeOntoPallets" but I have some doubts. I change the model adding a combiner, I creted a intergrer model entity state to identify the quantity of containers, and I have a real state to identify the container but I dont know how change the batch logic of the container to each product. In the definitios tab you can see the batch logics. I hope you can help me Best regards. OptimoContenedores3.spfx
  16. Hi, Usually what I do in cases that I want to check capacity before sending is create a "dummy" Resource. This way I seize its capacity before sending the entity forward. If it has no capacity for a given entity, the entity will just wait until it has capacity.
  17. In addition - Based on error message, the destination selection step seems to be trying to use a reference table, (used at source output node), despite the particular node list being specified in the routing logic for the node in question, (i.e. Output@QC2 - see below). Thanks again.
  18. Hi there, I'm very much a novice, but currently leveraging the logic in VisitAllServersInAnyOrder simbit to ensure an entity visits an entity is never reworked more than once. I've updated the model entity with required state variables and created a "MyServer" to create the "HasEntityVisited" etc etc. I'm using the "Candidate.MyServer.HasEntityVisited==False" logic for the selection condition in the output node routing logic. However, whenever I run the model I get the error message "Referenced definition type "MyServer" does not match executing type "BasicNode". I've gone over and over the various elements and compared to the working simbit, but can't identify the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Garrett
  19. That's because there is a routing table in this case. That's how it was set in this simbit before I made the updates. I also I tried to set the "Routing Table" as the initial sequence for the entity and I'm still getting the same error.
  20. I don't see the DefaulteEntity has assigned any Sequence?
  21. I used the "DashboardForScheduling" simbit as an example for this case. For the order that is using "FinishedGoodA" material, I want to change the sequence after the welding process is complete if both shape stations are not available. So, I created an alternative sequence table and referenced in the process logic I created. Whenever this happens, I get same type of error message. Do you think this is happening because the normal routing table is referenced at the source object?
  22. Hello Everyone, I am new to Simio, and need your help to figure out this. I am using search step to search for certain rows in a table that satisfy my condition. The search step performs as expected. I want to now to retrieve the values of the row associated with the found token. How do I do it? Also, if more than 1 row satisfies my search criteria then does Simio creates found token for each row ? or the information for all the rows in stored in one single token?.
  23. Ok I can do a trace and see what I find. Also, I do have different entity/job types getting processed. In my routing tables, I do have the entities specified in the table. I'm trying to use the "ChooseAlternateSequence" simbit as a reference. Is it possible to do this if you have more than one entity type?
  24. I'm trying to do something similar to do this where an order has 4 different routes or paths it can go (My model currently doesn't have paths). I created 3 separate sequence tables and created a process logic depending on if a certain workstation is already processing an order/entity, to go through this sequence. For some reason, whenever it gets to the "set row" step, there is a table reference error mentioning "no entries found" if though in the process step, I specify which row to start the new sequence. What is the reason behind this error?
  25. Hi Fabian, I see two (or more) possible alternatives for solving this. Assuming that the box only receives one type of entity you can: 1. Create a state variable (for example st_CurrentBoxType) and every time an entity enters the combiner you assign the entity type to this state variable. This way, one the box is completed and exits the combiner you will be able to assign it the st_CurrentBoxType. 2. The other way is to execute a search step once the box is full. You can use "ModelEntity.BatchMembers.FirstItem" as match condition to locate the first batched entity, then in the found branch use an assing step to assign the ProdType from the found entity I'm sure there are a lot of ways of doing that... hope this helps saludos
