Seems like this issue is still not addressed. Using the workaround suggested to get to the Connection String works fine, but for password protected access and security reasons we would not want to enter the password in this connection string. The file option would be preferred but it's selection box is not active. Can you please fix this ODBC connection type or advise on alternate approach? Thanks, Martin

Dave - Thanks for the response. Maybe we're just building too large models or spending too much time in Simio (or both). Yes closing and opening a model does solve it too, but not ideal. If there is a Applications Settings based option to limit the number of undo steps or undo buffer size control (I'm fine with the default setting being infinite), it would be much appreciated. We have also experienced slow down in model behavior for large models. Consistently experiencing slowing down during the course of a day (during development). Any property or layout or any change in the model, result in longer and longer processing time before the change is applied. Closing down and reopening Simio solves the problem. I don't see any obvious indication of a memory leak (memory utilized before and during the day remain the same). We are running 64 Bit and experience similar behavior across different machines with anywhere between 4GB and 32GB of memory installed. My guess is it has to do with the undo trace that is building up and with a model this size the effect becoming apparent. Any others with similar experience? Sincerely, Martin

Sumanth - You have quite a few different ways to go about collecting these interval based statistics, the first few that come to mind include: (With Enterprise Edition) setup a daily timer and trigger a process to write the statistic to a output table, then reset the statistic Setup a tally statistic and a daily timer and trigger a process to tally the statistic, then reset the original statistic Setup a array and a daily timer and trigger a process to capture the statistic in the array, then reset the original statistic As you can see, in all cases have some statistic that can be cleared on the interval after capturing its data in either a output table, tally statistic or array. Sure, in processing time property on server just fill in a reference to the table cell where the data exist. Either TableName.ColumnName if there is an associated object with a table association, or TableName[RowNumber].ColumnName, or TableName[ColumnNumber, RowNumber]. Sincerely, Martin

David - Glad to see you are getting your hands dirty with Simio. The problem in your model is that you have the Source 2 set to create between 1 and 4 entities per arrival. Your combiner is set to Batch Qty of 4. So if say only 3 entities are created in Source 2, they (and their matching parent) will never pass through the combiner, since they are waiting for the 4th entity. As a solution I would suggest having either the parent (preferred) or the members carry a reference value to how many batch members are expected. Then use that in the Batch Qty field on the combiner, such that the combiner works with any 1, 2, 3, or 4 batch member sizes. Sincerely, Martin

One approach that comes to mind would be a custom vehicle serving as transporter instead of the batching approach. Then utilize the evaluating transport request to check if TEU capacity on the vehicle is available or not. Sincerely, Martin
