Simio Training at Simio Headquarters

Simio Four-Day Training

Registration $1,000 per academic instructor attendee, and $2,000 for commercial attendee. Note: Full-time student discounts may exist based off of available space.

This four-day course first provides a fast start to using Simio to effectively solve real system design problems, then leverages that knowledge into building a continuous improvement platform that can synchronize your existing systems and drive your day to day production schedule. Attendees should bring your own laptops so you can participate in the hands-on workshops. Pre-registered attendees will be provided with a printed course workbook, and a copy of the book Deliver on Your Promise: How Simulation-based Scheduling Will Change Your Business, four valuable e-books (over 1000 pages total), and a free copy of Simio Personal Edition.

What will be covered: We start with an overview of simulation technology including the essential role it plays in successful Industry 4.0/Smart Factory applications. The first day includes building a model to solve a small problem while using that exercise to explore Simio features and capabilities. Starting on day 2 we use a series of workshops based on the Simio Standard Library to solve a variety of problems -- exploring the ease-of-use and power of intelligent objects. We proceed to discover how objects can interact to provide improved model accuracy and flexibility and how to create and modify objects graphically. Learn about innovations in data representation and integration with Excel, databases and external systems like Wonderware MES.

Significant time will be spent on extending model logic with add-on processes and building object definitions. Includes an overview of innovative ways to evaluate scenarios, interpret simulation results and optimize your system and demonstrates the many built-in tools and techniques to ensure that your model is verified and validated and providing reliable results. Day 4 will explore more about how Simio can be used to create a Digital Twin of your system, as well as providing introductory and intermediate scheduling training. Most topics are illustrated with numerous hands-on workshops that let you instantly put your new knowledge into practical application. Success tips based on decades of experience are interspersed liberally throughout the course. Networking opportunities will be provided to see how like-minded professionals are solving problems like yours.

Who should attend: This course is appropriate for engineers and process analysts looking to implement or upgrade their simulation capability, for engineering or business educators looking to introduce state of art technology into their simulation instruction, for managers and others who would like to better understand the technology, and for anyone who wants to explore how Simio can help fill in the missing pieces in an evolving Industry 4.0/Smart Factory implementation.

Why use Simio? Simio breaks down the walls of traditional simulation software, giving you the power to rapidly build accurate models and objectively analyze alternatives to make informed decisions fast. The built-in 3D animation provides a powerful tool for communication with managers and other stakeholders. After helping you design the most effective system possible, Simio extends your model's use into intermediate-term planning and short-term scheduling. Click here to learn more about Simio
