Authors Jeffrey A. Joines and Stephen D. Roberts invite you to turn on your computer, load Simio, and get ready to learn the simulation software with this "participatory style" workbook. This book expects your active participation in using Simio as you turn the pages.
The new fourth edition of the workbook has an evolved structure based on use and experience to improve the organization. We have reorganized the book by combining related chapters, which were added in earlier editions as separate chapters to accommodate new features to improve the flow. Several new chapters have been added from a simple introduction to simulation, to performing output analysis in Simio, to Simio's materials handling features as well as updated all of the chapters to incorporate the latest features of Simio Release 7.124 including the task sequences and tokenized processes. We strongly recommend using this fourth edition when you have the choice. Updates to the non-English translations are in progress. To buy on Amazon.com, visit here.
This third edition of the book with almost 50 new pages is based on Simio Version 5.91 and includes descriptions of many new software features not available in earlier software versions. We also added new sections and reordered several chapters.
The second edition of the book is based on Simio Version 4.64 and includes descriptions of many software features not available in earlier software versions. We also fixed the inevitable first edition mistakes and typos, added new sections and reordered several chapters.
This first edition of the book is based in Simio Version 3.42. Although some of the newer Simio features are not covered, this edition covers most commonly used Simio features and is appropriate for use with Simio Version 3.42 or later.
