Airport authorities, airlines, regulatory agencies, security specialists, and transportation consultants are regularly asked to develop and deploy systems that must meet quantified performance criteria. When developing these, simulation is often used to define, quantify, visualize, improve and sell their designs.
Steve Pare has been involved in the simulation of complex systems for over twenty years. He has built a solid reputation by assisting organizations in the fields of aviation, healthcare, government and manufacturing improve their designs and balance sheets using a variety of simulation platforms. His company, Simaco Inc., was the first to join the Simio partner network. Steve obtained a degree in industrial engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal and is a frequent speaker at a number of universities.
Hosted by Simaco Inc. Director of Simulation and Business Modeling Steve Pare, this unique one-day workshop will provide attendees with the opportunity to build a model in each of the three major areas of airport operations — ground transportation, passenger processing, and runway activities — using the latest object-oriented 3D simulation software: Simio.

During this hands-on session, participants will build models in which:
- Passengers are generated according to a flight schedules, are routed to the appropriate facilities and processed
- Departing aircraft leave their gates and safely navigate to runways and take off
- Key performance indicators are collected and analyzed
The training showcases the many features offered by Simio that simplify the modeling of airport facilities. Participants will leave with documentation, the solutions to the exercises, and an evaluation version of Simio the let them to continue their modelling.
