Sewickley, PA – Simio LLC is proud to announce that they have awarded over $21.5 Million in grants to universities in the first 6 months of 2015. During that time period, Simio has awarded grants to leading universities such as: Cornell University, Virginia Tech, and Penn State. These grants have been given to various departments ranging from Engineering to Business to Emergency Medicine. Over the years, Simio has awarded grants to over 800 universities in over 70 countries. For a full list of grant recipients, visit here.

In addition to the supporting the academic community with the grant program, Simio holds a student competition twice a year. With this past contest, Simio had a total of 255 students participate in the competition. These students came from 22 schools throughout 10 countries. These competitions not only challenge student model-building skills, but also require some creativity, project management, and even video production and presentation skills. This past semester’s competition problem was loosely based off an actual transportation logistics problem at Shell Oil Company. The next competition will start around September and will be a healthcare simulation problem.

Simio makes it easy for instructors to obtain, learn and teach what their students need to be successful. The resources of the Simio Academic Community support their objectives to stay ahead of the technology curve and meet the demands of next generation technology. Simio helps instructors teach with software, course development, textbooks and discussion forums. Learn more about our academic program here!
